i wonder if you raped the pasenger side firewall like in the pic, leave inside alone and put a fan in the hole it was in,...would your heater still work, b/c heater core is inside the cab ..isn't it? take the a/c evap. & box off ...smooth)like in pic), and leave heater core bungs and blower motor on the smoothed firewall
 
Side note: I noticed in your other picture of your fans that your neg batt cable wasnt grounded to the alternator bracket. Where is yours grounded? My is on the alt bracket and I hate it there because it just drapes across from the batt.

the ground runs to the lower pivot bolt of the alternator... well, actually the jumper from the frame runs there... i have a post on the frame that my battery grd runs to, jumpers over to the alt bolt and another jumper to the other grd post on the bottom of my electronics box, winch grd too...

going to the frame first allowed for much neater routing in my case. it's an extra connection for the starter grd to work thru, but I stay on top of my stuff and only use the best wire, lugs, shrink, corrosion inhibitor, etc...
