BB17 Carnage thread

Glad things worked out !

That video is great. I remember listening to it years ago. I never knew it would actually be part of our lives in the future. "Convoy" was one of my favorites.

Thanks......I needed that. :thumb:

Hey, Jack. It was great sitting at the same table where a lot of cool stuff was won. Glad you got the rig back together. Wade is one heck of a guy/friend. Love to see everyone working together. Family indeed. Can't wait to see more at BB18.

Had some carnage on Friday at the Wall on Steel Bender. The rear drive shaft decided to become two pieces

Here is a photo of @ktmoutfront welding it so Poco Loco could get off the trail :saweet:

While checking over Poco Loco for other damage, discovered that a c-clip for an axle joint was backing out. Turns out that another was already gone. I used the Tom Wood's certificate from the raffle to get a new drive shaft and also ordered CrMo inner axle shafts, new u-joints, and full circle clips from ORD/Yukon.

Spend Friday night 9/15 and Saturday 9/16 putting in the new parts. Poco Loco is all back together and ready for our next adventure in mid-October at Chile Challenge in southern New Mexico :woot:
Wow, that was fast!

Only Carnage here was my back. Worst Pain I've ever had, and Nasty Muscle Spasms
So far, in order,
Friday- Chiropractor- Adjustment
Friday- Dr Office- Muscle relaxers, Hydrocodone
Sunday- E.R.- Steroid Shot, Ibuprofen 800, Steroid pills
Monday- Chiropractor- Adjustment
Wednesday- Chiropractor- adjustment
Thursday- Dr Office- More Pain pills, x-Rays

Have another DR visit tomorrow to see if xrays show anything, or MRI is needed.

Dam Jason, that's a bitch. Can you even walk?

Damn dude, what brought this on?

Steel Bender, changed an AC Delco fuel pump which only had some 200 miles on it. Not a big deal with access to the fuel pump through the bed, but still... it was new. Then there was "Cracked on the Way Back". 'Mojo' had a super flex joint on the transfer case side of the front, but decided to get rid of that because I did't like the vibration. So sent it back and they re-built it with a CV. Installed 2 days before BB, it seemed a little long when I put it on, but BB wouldn't wait. My bad. But did do flex tests, seemed good, but apparently not enough because when both tires came off a 20" or so ledge straight on, the driveshaft pushed back and cracked the tranny case. Very sad moment. Very very sad. Somehow #s mixed up and the shaft was rebuilt an inch long and neither Shawn at Tom Woods' nor I will ever figure how, but they offered to "share the pain" which was very generous on their part. I would never buy another brand. Can't thank @AgDieseler enough for the tow out, we know that sucked - we were probably some 3 1/2 very hard miles from the lot. Unfortunately, there was no armstrong steering over/through some obstacles, so had to start the motor several times, which finished off the tranny. Sorry for the lengthy post but if it saves someone else... but it's almost mended and will be even better than it was. -Matt

brutal

First time I went wheeling with CK5 guys, 2 of the trucks did that. On the same rock. One drove home dumping transmission fluid. I hauled the other to his house on my trailer. Expensive day.
