BB2018 carnage thread

Blown headlight replaced and decided to replace both at the same time like the directions say. How many CK5ers does it take to replace a headlight? 4 of us tried and failed, driver's side headlight still no worky. So on to the fuse panel, yep Now all the headlights work. Thanks for the use of the tools after breakfast guys!!! Since wifey has been driving her truck a few days she now has a list of repairs with a timeline for completion. :doah:

Another casualty of the trail (I think) is the stereo in the Yukon quit putting out sound. Everything still works, the screen, backup camera, it still reads the jump drive, Bluetooth works, but no audio at all. Worked before the trail, but not after...

If you have an amp I would start there.

Yeah that is how I lost my front driveshaft.
Must have hit somewhere and bent and it kept going and turning crooked and stretched the straps so when I hit double whammy it gave
Yeah fortunately it’s double wall there where it hit, so it held up well

Yeah the factory amp is known to fail. The only thing aftermarket with my audio setup is the headunit, the rest is stock. But from what I understand, GM had external amps for their radios.

:haha::woot:
I broke my back tailgate glass, you can see it on metal masher.

I think 3 of us broke our tailgate glass this year. I was super happy i was lucky enough to find a replacement at the BBQ.

I also dented my frame, twisted the transmission crossmember, broke my motor mounts, broke the plug on the slip on my rear driveline, and worst of all i snapped the plastic door lock thing in the top of the door panel, that will put me back like $.99.... all small things and i didn't miss a second of trail time :)

oh and i guess my tow rig blew both headlights and the t-case started leaking when i pulled into moab.

I broke my hitch cover on Moab Rim. RIP Jack Skellington. Also likely toasted the passenger side hub. Unlocked it when we thought we were done with gold bar but needed 4wd for one more step but the hub wouldn’t reengage. Not a bad service life for original hubs from an 81’ k30, time to upgrade.

I blew a trailer tire 10 miles North of Moab on the way home, and limped into home with a second about ready to go. Neither of the tires that let go were even on my radar as possible, the one I was pretty sure I would have a problem with is still hanging tough.

Guess it's time for another $500 in tires, they only last about 8-10 years for me ;)
