BB2018 carnage thread

What caused the crossmember twist/frame dent? Was it the broken motor mounts or did you hit it or the skidplate hard?

I have no idea, could be either. the extent of me looking has been glancing at it from the side. i need to crawl under and look. i am pretty sure i hit the crossmember but i don't think i hit it hard enough to do that. one day i will crawl under and figure it out ;) :dunno:

It was just loose did not break.....

Why the zip ties???? Seems like youz had some of that there carnage that ya'll ain't ownen up to son.

Loose bolts that fall out are carnage, pretty mild carnage but none the less.

and for those wondering I don't know of anything wrong with mine, however I won't know until a week or two before I take it out again. There's a real possibility that could be next year, maybe even just before BB.

I got a crappy night of sleep lest night so I am really tired.. Was already loaded up and was ready to leave this morning. Fired up the Frankenliner and realized I forgot to grab my ice chest. Flded the ladder down, climbed up into the camper. Grabbed the ice chest and headed for the cab. Got on to the 191 before I realized I did not fold the ladder back up. It seems a lot bent now. drug all of the way out of the RV park. I am sure everyone was awake after that, Aluminum dragging on pavement.

I blew a trailer tire 10 miles North of Moab on the way home, and limped into home with a second about ready to go. Neither of the tires that let go were even on my radar as possible, the one I was pretty sure I would have a problem with is still hanging tough.

Guess it's time for another $500 in tires, they only last about 8-10 years for me ;)
Tires begin to degrade significantly after only 5 years and I wouldn't trust a 10 year old tire for anything other than yard duty.

I am betting that you have the same carnage as @500$k5 .
The crossmember gets smacked and bends the frame flange.

I sadly have no trail carnage to report, since it didn't runnage to Moab.. .

I know, most of my tires have tread left but the carcass gets bad and once the first one blows I just buy a whole set of new ones, anymore I don't typically go any farther than Moab and that's three hours from home so I kind of let them go a bit. If I was about the head across country I would deal with it much differently.

I have what are apparently super rare 15" 8 lug wheels, the crappy part of this entire thing is someone stole my spare tire and wheel, (I borrowed a 16" spare for this trip) A new wheel is really hard to come by and the only place I have found one as of right now wants nearly $150 shipped for a steel wheel. I found 16" 8 Lug trailer wheels for $37/ea. this am. I can damn near buy 5 wheels for the cost of 1 new one. I can fit 235/80 or 85 16 tires on the trailer barely and have a normal heavy duty wheel tire package that actually matches the real axle capacity of my trailer 6K axles but tires limit it to 10K. The 16" tires are at least $100 more total than the just buying 15" tires again, my trailer ride height be higher by about 2", which is a big deal since I don't use ramps to load and unload and I don't have issues with the 15" tires at all when they are in the typical service life.

Broke the exhaust hanger on Steel bender apparently. So that laid the exhaust on the 205 and cooked out some 90w going up Vail pass. Also pissed of the injection so it ran meh

Did some redneck fix in the Walmart parking lot

How did you manage to get most (or all?) your sheet metal damage on the side that didn't roll into the rocks?
