BE WARNED : dirty dingo motor sports

This will seem like a dumb question, but bear with me. Can someone school me on why there's so much 'adjustable' stuff these days?

That is to say, in the effort to make things infinitely adjustable, sometimes they look weakened by a large degree because of long slots like these mounts. While they are probably still plenty strong, this brings me to my next question.

I'm guessing 99% of us who get 'adjustable stuff' get it put in place and it never moves again, rendering the adjustability factor moot.

I know it would be a little more work, but what's wrong with all the "plate and tab" kits where you mount the plates to the block and the tabs to the bushing, do a quality one time setup which might actually involve a little forethought, and have a nice finished looking product that looks more purpose-built and less 'universal'?

Maybe it's just my perfectionist nature, but with all the time and effort we spend on our rigs, it seems silly to me to have some parts that look 'universal', if that makes sense.

I know it's a huge matter of preference, just wanted to get the opinions of others since I'll have to to this someday in my 68.

Also sorry to completely derail.... Here's a potato.
