Had the week off. Made quite a few things.

Today I sent a $4000 check to Vulcan Manufacturing Technology LLC for the down payment on a 4x4 CNC plasma with a water table.
I mailed the check at 2 pm today, and im still shaking a little.. hehe

Is it there yet??

Sounds like a bigger shop is in your future.......

The shop its going in is 40x60. But my table and this plasma table are going to take up basically an entire car bay. I think shoving the plasma in a corner will be the best idea. My table is mobile, so I can move it around wherever. Good castors are awesome :D

Side note, check this out!!! :eek1:

I bet you can convince them to give you a deal on your next purchase. Or maybe even some sort of continued sponsorship

So in your research you like this Vulcan Manufacturing for the plasma table? Does 4K include the plasma or you supply the plasma?

Since you are working with a lot of AL and Copper did you consider a CNC router? Just curious, as with the softer metals the router would give you a lot cleaner cuts but the plasma would be quicker, especially for steel, probably can't even cut steel on a router, not sure there. Anyway, what are your thoughts on that Mr. Sheetmetal master?

That was just the down payment... I still owe over double that. And that is without the plasma cutter and machine torch. Asside from that it is turn key, water table, computer etc.

Vinnie is building these to have the capabilities of being a router as well. I have been cutting everything so far with the plasma, and it does a pretty nice clean cut, even in aluminum.

I thought that sounded pretty cheap for a 4'x4' with water table too, but I haven't researched them.

I magine CNC definitely makes it cleaner than a hand cut. Heck even using a guide with the plasma makes it cut much cleaner than by hand. I just imagine a router would be much smoother machined finish, I just don't know how slow it is in AL. I imagine the right bit could cut relatively quickly in thin AL, but not like a plasma.

It is a company @Stomis and a partner have put together. Probably not much to research at the moment, but I plan to be a big part of their advertising. So this thread will have a lot of good info on their product. The stuff looks top notch though compared to a lot of the "cheap" tables out there.
