While I was running around repainting stuff I had dropped off the driveshaft at my new favorite driveshaft shop.
When I pulled the shaft I noticed that the weld on the rear was less then desirable looking. And that the shaft had a washer on end and two on the other.
I'm no driveshaft balancing expert by any means but I didn't care for that. So I found a place with decent reviews and gave it a whirl.

The place I found was Elkhorn driveshaft, in Elkhorn, Wis.
I dropped it off and they were very up front and straight with me.
So they told me it was shorted up at one time and since it was a swedged shaft, most likely the end yolk probably wasn't the press fit it needed. And hence the ugly weld. They honestly told me that there was no reason to mess with it if ran fine. (Which I insisted it did)
None the less I told them to put it on the balancer and see if it's in spec. And toss in some fresh u joints. And if it didn't balance then we would address it from there. I told them I was in absolutely no rush as knew it would be probably two weeks before I would need it.
Got a call at 11 the next day stating it was done. Picked it up and I talked to the main shop fella and he said it was one of the best swedged shafts he's ever seen. Basically perfectly balanced. Ok, then I guess piece of mind is worth alot sometimes. It had a fresh set neapco joints in it and I was set.
I've always been a believer that there is always local skilled and honest business's around. Not everything needs be to sent over the internet (so to speak.)
When I got it home I cleaned it and painted it
