Beag's 67 Chevelle. Supercharged Summer

I run CAT batteries on everything at work. Cat has not been able to tell me who makes them but they are reasonably priced for me and they have lasted well. My other go to that I know are really good batteries are Deka. I have a pair of group 31 Deka batteries in my blazer that I got as good used ones out of a semi back in like 2012 and they were in my blazer at least 4 yrs with me only hooking them up once a month to run it up to temp then unhooking them. Then I drove it a few yrs and now the last year and a half it has sat and they are ready to go any time I decide to go fire it up.

Last black Friday Menards had trickle chargers on sale for 10 bucks. I bought 5 of them. Now I basically have a trickle for everything that doesn't see semi regular use. My stepside has a trickle for the winter, my skid steer, etc, etc...

Yeah I want one of these so I can set up a charging station for all my stuff that doesn't get used in the winter. https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tender-022-0148-DL-WH-12-Volt-Management/dp/B000CIPHUI
I'd have to set up a dedicated parking area with posts and outlets to plug all my junk in if I put battery tenders in everything lol.
I'm not sure how these are but something like this would be good on all my tractors and crap that sits out side then I could just pull all the other batteries on the stuff that sits over the winter. https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tend...g=earthtechling-solar-car-battery-chargers-20

Those are both sweet. Problem is that nothing is convenient. My stepside currently sits next to my wife's cad in the front garage and my gmt400 and skid loader out back and then the chevelle in the shop, etc, etc. I need more room or less junk. I don't see either happening anytime soon ....

Yeah I'm the same way. I have several up by the garage and a few scattered around in the driveway and all the kids 4 wheelers and the farm stuff parked in the back. Eventually some day I might be able to do a machine shed of some sort and consolidate a bunch of it and run power off my farm meter. It gets a cheaper farm rate for power and I write it off as farm expense. It's also a hassle to put disconnects on everything. Luckily so far my farm tractors have been good. I had to do new batteries in everything when we bought the place and they have been really good sitting for months at a time and firing up just fine.

Just seams like batteries are always just a struggle. The family has a bunch of old Farmalls my dad painted up back in the day, they basically just sit around taking up space and are in the way. Moving stuff around for spring and fall farming is always a pain, Because you never know if that ol Farmall has enough juice to go.
Seems that they haven't gotten hip to the trickle charger yet. I know they have a few kicking about. But, I couldn't even start to count how many batteries they have around there, between tractors, lawn mowers, cars and trucks, ATVs, side by sides, sprayers, even an electric start log splitter. Goodness. I'm lucky, I only have a fraction of that mess.
I have good batteries in almost everything except that red Studebaker.
I'm think that my dump truck battery probably won't be much good by the time I get back to the cab swap. (Hopefully after the chevelle is "done".) My own neglect is to blame for that.

After digging around for a few days on the interwebz I've decided that a new LS3 block is probably the only way to go.
I won't spend 4-5k on an engine only to toss everything in the dumpster. Doesn't make sense.
The pricing structure of used engines and blocks is inconsistent at best.
Obviously there are guys that fire sale their stuff. Or just an occasional smoking deal that comes through. And I have a buddy that works at a Chevy dealership and he says things come available from time to time. But basically pending blowing up the 350 in this car, I would say that any engine build is mothball status. But it's nice to have general idea what direction to head.

Sure you can. You can tour all over the place if you want. You just can't really stop anywhere lol. So it isn't as fun.
I got not problem driving an hour just to get ice cream. Problem is they all the fun stuff is closed. Hopefully things start opening back up soon.
I have a small laundry list of places to hit up once the things are more normal.
Best news of this week is the drive in movie theater is opening up this weekend.

Just wanted to take a minute and plug a great vendor here on the website for Edelbrock and Fragnola products. @folkenheath will set you guys up.
I needed a couple adapter fittings for the Tanks inc. tank. And few other fittings I missed before. And I have done AN fittings before, but I just wrapped a wrench in electrical tape and hoped for the best. I knew it was time to up my game some for dedicated tools. So I ordered some soft vise jaws and an set of the wrenchs. I told Heath I was going to order this stuff and then covid-19 hit so I put it on hold for 5-6 weeks to make sure my job wasn't going to be affected. So I finally got back to it and he provided great service and shipping was super quick.
Seriously, if there is something you guys need, drop him a pm before you visit summit or jegs.

And so dean @max 02 doesn't bitch.
