Beag's 67 Chevelle. Supercharged Summer

Yeah I drove to the shop. Granted I Lived in Wyoming at the time. Just north of Windsor.:haha:
Bwahaha

We also added their dual piston disc kit to several cars. All based on the Wilwood pattern pad.
Could lock up all 4 w/o a booster

That's why I was asking about the 3 piston calipers awhile back

67 Chevelle?? Looks like a Dodge

Ok, so I acquired this 300, 2006, 84,xxx miles, leather seats, sunroof, V6

What's is the damn thing worth?? It seems like it should be around 6 grand on a dealer lot. So maybe 3500 to sell outright?

Overwise....
So I don't know what to do with it.
I don't really like Chrysler stuff, they are just cheap vehicles.

So do I drive it? Sell it? Trade it?
Twin turbo it? Or ???

I’ve only had one pin that wouldn’t come out of a 10 or 12 bolt. That’s Focked.
Yeah. I dread working on rear ends and axles. I swear I have the worst luck with them. First rear end I ever set up gears in I broke the bolt to remove the pin. My luck with axles has never recovered!
This one, the bolt came out easy but the stupid pin wouldn't move. After beating on for 30 minutes, I decided to cut it. Had to make two cuts to get it out. But I'm set now.
Got to order up a new pin tomorrow as I've scraped my whole inventory of axles I used to have.

Wtf you have a Monte SS you have been hiding from me?
Yeah I do. It sits at my dad's farm. It was my first car. I took it to WyoTech and back halfed it. 2x3 frame rails tied and reinforced to the g body torque boxes.
Parallel 4 link. Fk rod ends.
Fab 9" narrowed up.
Built wheel tubs for it and all.
It currently sits with a mild 355 (non race) small block.

Car needs a little rust repair on the body. And some finish welding on the tubs.
And then needs to be blown apart for painting the frame. It's just in primer.

Quite honestly I wanted a bracket car. But ever since I raced lemons my head only thinks about road racing and auto cross or time attack. So with that said I found a really good g body frame a year or so ago to swap back under the car.
At this point I don't really know what my long term plan is for it. And that's the way I have felt about it for awhile.
I actually regretted my full out drag car direction about 6-8 months after I did the work. But all the time I had in it made me not really want to undo my hard work. But I won't get rid of it because it was my first car.

For what it's worth the back frame rails were completely rotted out and gone when I bought the car at 16. I had spent the better part of 6-7 years of looking for a decent frame in the Midwest to frame swap it. I never found a cheap car with a decent frame so I decided to cut it up. My regret only came from the fact it was my first car, not my desire for a drag car, (at that time)

Honestly most likely the direction will be to swap the other frame and sell my back halfed g body frame. I'll cut the tubs out for some mid sized tubs and put a big 10-12 tire. I had it sized for 15 inch wide tires.... Still make it fast, just something that I can drive to the track, not trailer.

Also as another note. When I said I looked for a frame mind you this is before Craigslist or marketplace. So you had to work a bit harder, paper classifieds, word of mouth, swapmeets and driving around the country side and keeping your eyes open.
So when I say I was looking.... I was looking but I wasn't running to every spring and fall Jefferson and scouring the whole swap meet for a g body frame.
It was more of a casual thing. I never had a problem finding g body's, but either the frame was shot or the body was to good to part.

So over the last year plus I've been dreaming up my direction of a build. From day one I knew it was going to be a driver. The pro touring thing has always appealed to me since it hit the scene.
My build Vision for this car has evolved over that time. But basically it's stayed the course of the general pro touring theme. (I know I laid the foundation from The get go that I would like to pursue a pro touring style)
I am not got to share all the ideas in my head quite yet.
But slowly my plan has developed.
Phase one. Bolt on only. My goal for phase one is to see how good (or bad) the factory A body is.
I figure a stock baseline is pointless because we know that a 60s heavy musclecar is basically a fish out of water.
So phase one with be set up with idea that everything will just be bolt on type items. Phase one will be complete in 2020 and phase two will commence during the winter of 20/21.

More to come later.

Well if it happens my plan is the last 4 days.

Screenshot_20200419-102338.png

So inevitably, I have a car and power tour will be very close to my house.
Places like the quad cities and Madison that are that places I've been to many many times.
Of course we will have this kinda thing happen(pandemic) right now. I have set my deadline for the car to be done. And I've been wrenching every single day to achieve that.
But I also basically figure it will be cancelled.
FML.

If it happens I'll swing down to Davenport on the 12th and check your car out :waytogo:

Yeah for sure I was going to text you once I knew:

I guess there is a chance I don't go even if the tour happens. Their are always unforseen circumstances.
But I told my wife if nothing else we will take the STS-V. That has two things the chevelle doesn't have. 525hp and AC.
:haha:

I wouldn't be offended if you didn't have any desire to check out a boring blown Northstar. :waytogo:

So I set out to pull the rear end out of the car.
The stupid thing fought me every step of the way. But still was able to pull it in about an hour, maybe an hour and half. With only hand tools so not terrible...

One shock was collapsed, found air lines for the a set of old air shocks and found that the coil springs had spacers.
The PO told me that the passenger side tire would get into the fender if you hammered on it and made the Rear end squat rear hard. He gave me some b-body springs to "fix" that problem. I tossed those springs out of the back of the truck when I got home by the shed. the most useful thing I'll ever do with them is sometimes when I get bored I'll toss them up in the air and watch the bounce around in the yard when they hit the ground.:rotfl:

I guess he didn't know that a body's are notorious for having a problem that the rear end is offset in the car.
I'll be addressing that issue.

Anyways I got the rear end out, I felt it like it need to know how I felt about it.

Come on now, I've never painted one of my driveshafts orange. AND if I did, it was to piss off @6872xtc

You're not very nice to the backing plate. Maybe you should paint it orange

As the current caretaker of this car, I actually am thinking about repainting it orange. We'll see I guess.
No rules in hot rodding.
