Beag's 67 Chevelle. Supercharged Summer

I think it all looks awesome....:saweet:

Why the extra money for the braided brake lines on the axle? The wilwood calipers don't move with pistons on both sides and you can change the pads without removing the caliper....I think you could move them just enough to change the rotor or axles seals too if needed. I just put solid lines all the way across and left one braided line to the axle housing.
I couldn't agree more.
That's what I thought to. That's what the willwoods kit sent me and what's in the instructions.
I actually was going to call willwood to see what there reasoning was.
Guess calling them slipped my mind.
Maybe I'll call them now.
My only thought is, like you mentioned, is service.

Called willwood..it's a service item. They obviously said that you can run a hard line into if you want. But it just a common way to do it so people have the flex line in place for service.
Guess I don't care much.

AKA. I already bought it, and went to the work of installing it. So I'm way to lazy to change it now. Plus it's done and off the list. No need for rework.

Will be something I will look at in more depth with a different rear end.

I don't get involved in many forums, this one seems to have enough experience for my different realms of motorhead adventures. If not there is always youtube.
I like this thread in particular because Ive had the 300 deluxe and a couple Malibus early in my life (first three cars). Kept selling and trading to get into my Vette, which was barely drive-able when I bought it, but I still miss my 66 Malibu. Its the biggest reason Im a Chevy guy.
Anyhow, keep on doing it your way! Good ideas can come from many minds, but sometimes its overkill and out of budget to do so. Also, get it done and enjoy it through different phases. My K5 is still a rats mess, but Ive enjoyed it for almost 10 years now, making some great memories on the trails, while so many other projects are still on jackstands...mine included! Building is rewarding but enjoying them is experiencing the automotive world in all its glory. One of my best memories in the Vette was Powertour 2012. So much fun driving with a couple thousand other hotrodders throughout Michigan! Funnernhell.

Derail motivation: stopped by my buddy's work yesterday and he had his little drag car out and about. It used to be pink with some 90s striping on it and belonged to his wife's grandma. He used to have a Vega drag car and he's building a pro touring style '55 Chevy. This turned into a bracket car derail project. Tinkering with it and doing little mods. It's a somewhat built small block and a crappy 700R4 that needs a rebuild and converter bad. It's got a 4th gen rear end. Him and his father in law painted it shortly before he got killed in a car wreck. He said it should run 12.50 easy with a good trans and a converter that doesn't slip like the one it has now. He races it over in Grand Junction.

Your retired now, and powertour is close. Any thoughts of doing it this year?
I tried to poke Heath about it a while back.... I am sure that the 632 would be willing to come out and play for a day or two?
The Vette is ready to go or not?

Vette is driveable, but needs new skins, that burnout last fall took em down to practically nothing left. So that gets me thinking of a bunch of things....but not to clog up your thread with.
Short answer, no I wont consider taking it on powertour this year....my main focus is the Maiden and BB20.

I got to admit, its cool, but powertour doesn't appeal to me much mainly because it sounds like a big traffic jam. Albeit one of the coolest ever because it's a traffic jam of cool cars, but still, a traffic jam. I remember the woodward cruise when I lived in MI, I would go maybe couple nights the week leading up to it when there was tons of cars out, but no traffic jam. I wouldn't bother going on the actual day of it, too busy.

Maybe I'm wrong but I'd rather cruise to get ice cream or cruise to the race track. I also like to cruise once a year to a small car show where I know most everyone, with no traffic jams. But a nationally assembled traffic jam? Not really interested...

Powertour is a gearhead bucket list item for me.
I know I've seen powertour go through before and always thought. Damn I need to do that.

Honestly by setting a goal it forces me. Otherwise it just ended up like my Monte Carlo or my 79.
Sitting. Might as well. Blah blah blah.
We all know the drill. It's talked about on here on a daily basis. Sitting, long term project, routine maintenance.......all the pros and cons of all that.
I will admit I knew this car wouldn't see the Rd for a 6-8 months. As I gathered my information and decided a build direction I knew it would be a year. I was ok with a year to gather parts and build. I'm at a year and half give or take.. but no one drives a chevelle in the winter so it's ok.

Back to powertour. Maybe I have complete blast and it's a new yearly thing.
Or Maybe it's a traffic jam and no fun. We will see.

The guy with the orange 1966 300 deluxe did it a few years ago and said it's a must do.
But he might not go this year Because he's putting a TKO600 in that car. I haven't talked to him since they changed the date.

Maybe @76zimmer has some input?

Other goals for the this year is a driving class with the SCCA and one or two solo events if they happen. And maybe goodguys show in iowa, Tennessee or ohio. All decent drives. And I sold my car trailer......so the only option is to drive!:pimp1::D:pimp:

Shit yeah! Drive it everywhere. I NEVER see any one driving anything around here. Not even beater 80s rear wheel drive crap. There's the farm kids with their trucks and the stupid brodozer dumbass diesel kids but no one with anything halfway cool that drives it. The kid at the farm store has a halfway cool foxbody but that's about all I see ever.

Goal would be not to really trailer it anywhere. The paint isn't that good anyways. It's the perfect driver. Has a shine. But really is a 15 footer. If I get a scratch on it doesn't much matter. Not saying I want scratches. But it definitely needs paint.
Plus I sold my car trailer two years ago when we were unexpectedly put in a financial jam. I figured, I would build one when I'm ready. Also I the longer I don't have one the less junk cars and trucks I can drag home? Right, but what's the fun in that?
Maybe I need to see about that iroc z again this weekend....:surepal:

My bucket list to do once would be drag week. Real racing, real driving, and a limited number of fast cars so no traffic jam. But I think you're Monte might be better suited for that than the Chevelle? The next motivator after the Chevelle is on the road......????? :waytogo:

We drove to Detroit (about 130 miles from my place) and back opening day. We had no traffic jams because everyone was arriving that day at different times. We registered and then went cruisin’ around a bit, mostly because there were so many places hosting open houses, we ended up at Lingenfelters and it was a popular place that day! Got to meet Vic Jr there. Every place was Powertour aware and welcoming! We ended up at a local drive in for dinner then drove home later that evening. The car was a mess, as it rained most of the day, so I put it on jackstands and spent a couple hours cleaning it up late friday night. Saturday went to a local Chevy dealer open house/car show. Then Sunday we drove up to mid MI where most of the tour was passing through a small town area, so we parked, watched a bunch of cars go by, and jumped in line and headed towards Muskegon. It was pretty cool because there were quite a few places that had groups of people along side the road to watch the tour come through. There was one 4 way stop along the way that a bunch of people were taking pics, and encouraging burnouts....that took a little bit of time to get through, but then it was on to Muskegon where the tour destination was for the day...they pretty much had a route shutdown for the cars to come in without traffic, again so many people lined the street to watch the cars come in. We parked in a big grass field downtown, which was close to the main event grounds....dyno, manufactureres displays, show cars, etc...and @Deuling met us there too. We hung around all day taking in the cars, food and dyno exhibition, then drove home that evening....maybe another couple hundred miles that day, I think we did about 600 for the weekend. We didn't follow it out of state though.
So overall, a definite YES on the bucket list! Im glad I did it, and would like to go further next time!

Yeah. Drag week has been a bucket list since the first year they did it. My buddy did it a bunch of times back around '07-'11 and I'm not sure how many time since then as we haven't stayed super close in the last few years. I was always hoping to be able to do it with him. My only reservation it seems that you need at least one copilot that can wrench and drive.... Something I don't currently have....

Definitely motivating me to get that car back up and going.

Very cool Zim.:waytogo:

Drag week fills up in about 7 minutes when they open registration...so good luck with getting in.
They’re running starting/ending at Martin this year....I’ll miss opening weekend, but will be back from BB20 in time for the last day. Always a great time. This will be the 3rd time they've been to Martin.

That's the problem. They are victims of their own success. They need to open it up or do it a few times a year.

I know there is only a jacket up for grabs, but people are nuts over this series.
Have you checked out the facebook page or instagram on it?

Ran the head numbers tonight looked them up and they came back as a 71 LT1 350 330hp heads 75 cc.
So what ever that is worth.
