Beag's 67 Chevelle. Supercharged Summer

Not bad I guess, but I think they look better on older trucks.
Don't mind me anyway I am weird
I've never seen these wheels on a truck before. 10 spoke wheels look good on some c10s.
Wheels are super subjective and you will never please everyone.
I really like these for the price.
Most likely these will become autocross only wheels and I plan on buying a different set of rollers that will go with my build theme, for daily use.

Bwahahaha!

I mean, it's sad everything is canceled. But at least you've got a sense of humor.

Jefferson is still happening, if you get bored.
you don't think I have a sense of humor?, look at the name of my thread. Cone crusher. The point of autocross is to drive around cones. I don't take myself to seriously and just want to go out and have a good time. If I suck at it, it doesn't matter as along as I smile.
I do want to improve on my own driving skill. The car will be set up better them some ever get to, out of the gate. So the main limitation will be me.

As far as Jefferson goes, it's fun to look at junk, but there isn't much for me there anymore. I've reached the point that everything I would be buying is new.
Only exception is I have a small list of Studebaker parts, but that's not my current focus, so I can spend a weekend doing better things.

I understand that. I chuckled at the "cone crusher" moniker. :waytogo:

I've only been there as a gawker. It's cool seeing the projects, but I wasn't going to bring anything home with me. I understand having better ways to spend the weekend.

I would sell you these if you want (after this summer). I have 5. Ordered them from summit and one was nicked. I called and complained. Told them I need a new one and they let me keep it. Its a rear. So 18x9.5. so I have three 18x9.5 and two 18x8s.
Would have to convert to car pattern. Which isn't terrible to do.
I bought these last fall and since then I finally found the wheels I really want to run long term.
So I might off these. Or have a couple of wheel/tire packages or possibly keep them for one of my other cars I have.
Depending on where things are at, I might be interested. 18" is the size I was looking at.

On another note. Every event I planned for this summer has been cancelled. Except power tour & Cars and Cones.
Cars and Cones was rescheduled for the end of October. That's probably not going to happen since baby #2 should be here in early October.
Plus October is when the big winter construction push happens and getting time off work is nonexistent.

Oh well. Being a Cubs fan taught me at a young age. "There's always next year".

Or if you're a Twins fan, there's always 87, and 91!

Decided to get back to the engine mount mess. Pulled everything off the rest of the engine. The engine has solid moroso mounts. So those aren't the issue. It appears that the driver side mount is all hacked to crap. Enlarged holds. Missing the part on the underside that prevents the mount from crushing under bolt tension.
I'll order some new ones on my payday order. Looks like they run about 80 bucks. Not terrible, but the nickel and dime thing is getting old quick.

It's utterly frickin amazing how much and how fast that crap adds up. As soon as you have everything.... There's one more thing :doah:

It does. I figured that odds and ends would run me a grand. I am pushing that quick and I don't have nearly enough done yet.
I didn't account for new u joints, rear end sandblasting, motor mounts. And a few other things here and there. Overall I am going to stay positive. I am trying to put together an honest car and I'm not going to skip. Sure I could make that mount work. It was in there before. But that's not how I'm building this car. It might not be the prettiest. Or the best. But it will be built to the best of my skill and ability. I won't let an 80 dollar engine mount or 50 bucks in sandblasting stand in my way of that.

Huh. RockAuto had them for 50 bucks. Goodmark ones.
Second best pricing I found was 70 bucks.
Went ahead and ordered them. Sooner they are here the sooner I move on the next thing.

I see people find deals on there all the time. But it seems everything I've actually looked for on there is either same price as I've found or more. 'Maybe' a couple bucks cheaper.
Place must not like me lol.

I was surprised. I checked the goodmark website to double check. 70 bucks on there. Normally shipping kills rockauto for me. But out the door with my 5% discount code it was 58 dollars to my door.
I can't complain about that.

They have been shipping stuff pretty quickly. Luckily with my deadline pushed out I have been able to take my foot off the gas a bit and work towards a better finished product. If powertour was still in June I would have slammed this back together and worried about it when I pull the chassis out for chassis work.

I'll be boxing and bracing/rewelding the chassis then I'll send it out for powercoat.
Then just a reassemble. Once I do that I feel like I'll be able to take advantage of all this fancy ridetech stuff.

Kinda where I'm at with my truck. Right now I'm doing the best I can to do it right, but also slamming it together so I can enjoy it this summer. This winter I can yank it all apart and take my time doing it better.

I can't wait to see video of this car smashing cones

Me too!

The other day my jobsite got rained out and I was the last one around. So I took the work car weaving through some barrels/pylons.
Probably about 70 yards worth. Lol. Even a Ford can be fun, who knew!

There is a local track up in Jefferson that puts on a track attack. Here's a video I found of a guys 75 Monte Carlo.

They run them every couple of weeks.

I haven't actually checked to see if anything changed but I'm shooting to do one night late summer. Either the Aug 14th date or the sep 11th date.
Probably a three hour drive for you. And probably not worth it. but you would get out of Iowa for a few hours and that's a plus!

Theres a road course track near Joliet that lets you play for a day for like $250.
I looked into it before I decided to go all 4x4. I can't remember all of it, but I know you had to do a license test to prove you can drive. Plus they had rules of letting the faster people by and all that.
I'll look it up later if I get ass time due to rain.

It's the autobahn.

https://autobahncc.com/

I raced there with our lemons car. That's the track I spun out and whacked the wall.

They have track days through the SCCA.
I'm not 100% convinced I want to put this car on a live track with other cars.
Especially on an open event.
Having been in grassroots racing, let me tell you just because you have a car doesn't mean you should be on a track.

There is also a Road course in rockton IL called Blackhawk farms. I could also put my car on the track there through the SCCA.

And lastly there is Road America.
We were looking into running the champ car series with our lemons car. (champ car is lemons competitor) they run Road America. Then we dismembered.
I know where our old car is now sitting and not getting used. Maybe I should just go talk to that asshole and buy the rest of the car. I still technically own 25% of that stupid thing.

Where's road America? That one sounds familiar.

My original plan about 10 years ago was to put all my money in a trailer and a full road course Monza.
Then decided to go 4x4 since I could have fun within a half HR from home instead of driving 3 hrs once a month.
