I was 100% with you until you mentioned the taco truck. @ktmoutfront may have cured me from wanting those anymore.

The rest of it sounds like an excellent reason to have no Chevelle update.

Having seen a kitchen or 6, hospitals and schools are across the board cleaner than all others. Past that its a crap shoot

Anyway it doesn't matter, I eat at Roach Coaches. That's the way it goes.
I could tell you some things about bridges that would make you never want to cross them. But I won't because it's insider information typically... It's all relative.

So what are people using for an line clamps? I found that Scott's hot rods have a slick one that is exactly what I'm looking for.


Unfortunately they are 27 bucks a pop. I was thinking about 4 of them would be perfect, but I am not super fond of the idea of spending 120 bucks for 4 clamps.
I already bought and installed some basic billet an line separators down the length of my feed and return lines. Now I need a solution to mount them to the frame.


The problem is the separators are threaded on one side so they really don't allow them to be bolted down easily. Am I missing something here?

I would prefer not to use those little rubber p clamps. I just don't care for them in a hose application.

Earl's has a sweet billet single p clamp. I suppose it wouldn't kill me to pop on of those on a single line by a line separator. It would probably hold the second line fine...

I used some like that from Jegs. The original from Jegs is on the bottom of the first pick, the other two are after drilling it out. I drilled out the holes to countersink a bit larger allen head machine screw, drilled the hole through the clamp and mounted them to my brackets.

Just drill your separator for a thru bolt

That's kinda an idea I had in mind.... But I was having a mental block on how to make it work with that tiny ass little bolt.
For some reason I couldn't come up with that idea to resize that center bolt.
That's a perfect idea. Thanks Dave!

P.S. no worries on those gears, my new set of spiders will be delivered today and I found out that 8.5 rear carrier and side/spider gears are bigger then 8.2s.....

I bought a jig to hold bolts.

The rest of the lockwire stuff I already had.
So here is the problem with my wheel studs.

The stock knurl depth for the stock press In studs is .472
And the tap depth for 1/2-20 bolt is .453.
So this was the reason for my initial thought process of just popping in a larger press in stud.
The problem with that was after I ordered the wrong stud, I had a hard time finding the correct stud for the wimpy ten bolt flange.
Anyway. I decided that I would drill them I knew I would need something to lock that bolt since I was giving up the .020ths I was super worried about stripping the hole. Enter lockwire.
I won't lie it's the first time I ever really lockwired anything. Always thought it was cool. Never really thought I needed it for anything. But I feel this was a good use to start using it.
The jig helps hold the bolt head for the little hole you need to drill.

Once I ran the ten bolts through the jig I got busy wiring the axles up.


I'm no professional aviation mechanic. But I think it looks decent. I twisted them a bit more then the aviation guys would just because I like the tight twist. I think it looks good but maybe @bigjbear can tell me how I did?

Moving on, I did have a box delivered today. Thanks to @mrk5 for a set of old crew cab gauges to let keep some tabs on the ol' 350 sbc.

I’m guessing.032 stainless lock wire. It looks ok to me. Maybe one spot you twisted and then untwisted. That’s a no-no. But I think you’ll be fine.
