It is difficult, but not the worst. It's a longer day on the trail and it's been known to have some "incidents".
Not that I've seen. It's been 3 years and they way the place seems to develop it's possible there's one there now.

I had to miss a year because of that same reason. He ended up being born 2 days after the event, so we definitely would have been cutting it close.
That's awfully close to the due date of my baby.
Not sure how I feel about that.

Yeah. My wife is high risk. Due to a few things she has going on.
Guessing she wouldn't like that to much.
It's a very tempting idea. I could stop and see my sister in Laramie or some of my old friends in Denver.
I guess I need to plan a trip back out west. I haven't been back since I moved out of Colorado.

I don't see the golden spike trail on the trail descriptions on the Blazer bash website.
Also, I see on the website it appears they have a bunch of runs setup. But they are on the more difficult trails.
Do groups go on the easy trails?
Have honestly never gave blazer bash a remote thought. Because I don't want to damage my sheetmetal.
But if I decided to go, I could take the easy trails just for sight seeing? There would be a group of guys to go with?
Edit: I'm referring to taking my 79...
If you get the '79 out to Moab, there will be guys who will run a trail with you, myself included, that won't dent your truck. I have had my '70 to Moab once.

I know it's not popular. But I'm just not into all the bashing of sheetmetal. Especially on the truck I built in highschool.
I would have no prob with scratches. As the paint is far from perfect.
And I would finish it out, it would be on 36s, and locked on both ends.
So more then capable. Just would personally like a non eventful ride.
The trail is called "Trifecta" on the Blazer Bash web page. We've stopped calling it that because it was decided the name was bringing bad ju-ju.
I cannot think of a single dent I have gotten in Moab. Granted, my truck is a little ways from stock, but it's also nearly 20ft long. It's not that hard to avoid body damage in Moab. There's 1 obstacle on Golden Spike, I think it's called Body Snatcher, that I've heard of people getting body damage. I think it must optional, because either I skipped it or it wasn't all it was made out to be.
That's not to say it's impossible to dent a truck, but in most cases you'd have to be on a very bad line to do it. If you have a "pretty" truck, most of the guys will jump in to help you not damage it.

Truck specs would be 475hp small block, EFI. t350, twin sticked 205, tons, lockers. 4.56s
11.5k winch. Crossover steering. Beadlocks.
I would probably try to drive it there so I would want to put a 4L80E in. Otherwise all those parts are literally sitting on my shelf. Except tires. I need tires. Would be in the 36-38 inch range.
I would probably want to pop a 10k or better winch in the back.
I would have no problem being a solid dead weight for recovery of other people and helping in that way.
I have no idea how the hell to drive on more moderate to difficult trails. I have done tons of easy off roading in the Mts and even in Moab. But nothing hard.
So those things said (outside of stressing over my "pretty" truck) that's where I would be at.
Guess you guys can find space for that kinda of thing I would seriously consider getting off my ass and getting it assembled for 2021.

Every once and blue moon I do a little work on it.
I did a few things to this spring. Lol. At my current build rate it would take me to about 2120 to get it done for blazer bash.
