Mike- that sucks !! After seeing the updates to this thread not long after actually getting and installing my box, I texted Jacob to see what was going on as I had a few people interested after seeing mine in action. I did receive a text back about a week later....he informed me that he had or was in the process of selling the business to a larger manufacturer that could keep up with demand, and that he was still going to be involved in it with R&D and new products, I believe the Facebook page had a similar message posted recently. He also said that the website would be back up shortly once the transaction was completed.
Unfortunately I have no idea what that means for your particular situation, hopefully you get something back...
Right, I hear ya! As far as his products go - hey, I'll be the first to say they are of awesome quality and really great value! But his customer service is... well... NON existent! He has screwed up so many times with my order and would you believe the last batch of stuff I sent him back, he'd actually given me a bunch of free duplicate items I didn't even order! I was NICE enough to send that stuff back to him on my OWN DIME! God its no wonder he's failing on his own as he simply can't manage the orders and getting the parts sent out on time as he promises.
My situation as it currently stands is I am out the following parts:
-- 1 complete strong box WITH my guts from the transfer case I installed already... Jacob kindly agreed to file the ring gear for me in the area that I damaged when I drove the ring gear out of the aluminum case of the donor xfer case.
-- 1 triple stick shifter assembly & boot. (he's sent me the peripherals previously but WTF dude??? This stuff is worthless without the shifters!) I've been waiting for the shifters now for almost a YEAR.
So I called him today and what do you know, his voicemail box is FULL. That and he never replied to the text I sent him last night begging to just send me my parts back even if he was too scatterbrained to have worked on it by now.. (Nevermind the fact he acknowledged my parts about 3 weeks ago and promised to ship them out the next Monday)
Not defending Bohemoth at all.......but how about some details. It's easy to post in a forum under a screen name and a location of "earth" calling someone out....at least tell us your story about how he stole your money.
I hate to hear the bad experiences soo many have had....I was obviously one of the lucky ones....I got everything I paid for and it works awesome......it did take twice as long as I was told...but I got it all and it's top notch.
Not really surprised to see somebody show up out of the blue, hunting a live thread about BTD and Jacob. That's what I've been doing... Heck, I even posted my first post on Pirate the other day in hopes Jacob is watching. Hell, I've got nothing left that I can do at this point.
JT - I was almost in your shoes too.. Mistake I made though was when I sent him my parts back just because he had some diamond files he'd done the minor "fix" on the ring gear with himself. (If any of the teeth on the ring gear are even barely peened over even at the outer edges, the planetary gears make an obnoxious noise once every rotation). That, plus I decided to add the triple shifter kit too. I'm an idiot - I should have just kept my nice strong box and all, and ordered a shifter from JB custom fab or something...
So.. To any of you guys that have luck getting a hold of Jacob - I ask the brotherhood for this favor - tell him to PLEASE reply to Mike in Wisconsin about his stuff! I'm really not an a-hole, at this point I just want my stuff back!
