BENDER stays in hibernation with me

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the driveshafts are doing fine. I haven't had a chance to drop the passenger front and check the joint, however I have done some knarly stuff recently and haven't had any problems. There are no strange sounds or wear marks on the CV joint. I think I'm in the clear with it, but really need to check.

Also, for the drive to pismo, from Highland Park to Grand Ave/ 101 freeway is about 200 miles. I used somewhere around half a tank. After doing the math at the gas station, I get a cool 11.5 mpg. It's almost all flat road, just small hills. The blazer was absolutely FULL of camping stuff, full ice chest, every corner, up to the front buckets, plus a spare tire, fluids, and enough tools to fix just about anything. :D

Gunna have to keep an eye on this TRE. I never liked the idea of an offset rod end, but it was the only way to keep the tie rod from hitting the front cover :( I don't remember hitting anything hard, but I'm sure the hydro assist stresses it out enough on it's own.

I keep the straight ones for spares, but looks like I should be ready with an offset one too. I'm not sure how long it's been like this either, maybe since coming back from Gorman a few months ago. I had all this apart to check my kingpin preload, would have seen it then. Noticed it today doing the same procedure. Gotta keep on top of that preload.

yeah dammit, I didn't bother taking it off, since I've got nothing to replace it with.

If you follow the line of the TR, with the line of the rod end, you can tell it's bent. I'm gunna order up a new one, along with a spare pair. Until then, keep an eye on the new for any blazer accidents :D

Yah I had a hard time seeing on my phone.

That sucks. Isn't Colby running these? Or am I wrong.

Ugg, my computer and video editing programs suck. Here are some screen shots. I've been trying to put together a youtube video of some recent outtings, but they were captured with devices that use funky file types. Even after converting, I still can't seem to edit them :(

I hope you can get the vid up soon. Pics look great. That one on the dunes looks like you're trying to take out that quad rider. :haha:

haha, in the video we get closer at the end of that hill, didn't expect him to come down in front of me. But, being a friend of mine, I at least know where his parents live and I can send flowers. :D

I'd say the pictures look GREAT for only being screenshots from the video my phone took. Holy cow. How far we have come.....

there is something wrong in this pictures that resulted in the second picture :doah: More pictures and video from today to come, for those that bother checking in on this thread :D

aaahahahahahaha
Well, I do like to keep the build here and not the Driveway.

I've been meaning to grab a spare but you know...things come up....I forget.... aliens invade the planet and I need to stop them you know nothing

So I've got a spare now. I managed to get the truck parked without steering, just a whole lot of arm work. I still need to clean off the pulleys as the belt made a mess of those while dying. It was at the very end of the day, everyone must leave by 4:30. It was 4:15 as I make my way towards the exit. A big, deep puddle beckoned me on the way out. Big splash, then lots of squealing, funny smells, then WACK......nothing :doah:

Since I made it up the easy line, lets try the harder one. This is steep, dragged my bumper hoop each time. Truck does not like it, it peed washer fluid at me, which I'm used to, just not in that volume :haha: Nevermind the driver side front didn't like staying on the ground.

For Deuling::D:waytogo:

I was talking to this guy down near the mud pit. All of a sudden, trucks start back, lots of them and quickly. Somethings up. Jump in and race over to where the masses have gathered. Up on the top of this hill climb, there's a flopped truck. It wasn't the easiest way to get up, but the back way didn't have stuck rigs trying to get up :haha: Yep, first truck on the scene :D I know this climb and it's exit, dude just rode the left side too much and flopped it. :doah:
