BENDER stays in hibernation with me

I like the new rims, they look good. :waytogo:

And a new toolbox is a always exciting!

Finally I get to join in on the BS :D

Originally I had it sitting flush and it looked great. Then I put the antenna cable on and found it hitting my defrost vent, keeping it from going back any further than what you see here. Sooner or later I'll be ripping the dash out, redoing the wiring, and pulling all the HVAC stuff out. Then, it will sit flush again. :)

the new wheels and tires look great! I need to get around to installing my cb too

Thanks man, they seem to be growing on me but still feel small lol

Question: With my electric fan swap, I'm thinking about putting an override switch in the keep the fans ON. My thought process is such..... having them come on and off 100 times while attempting a hard obstacle is bad, just leave them on and have less shock to the electrical system.

Dunno, what ya'll think?
I'm probably going to wire my trans cooler fan to the radiator fans, that way they all come on when the truck is getting worked. There is very little wire between the fans and the battery, plus good relays, so I don't forsee hot wires.

Override is good but not for the reason stated. Once the temp goes up they should stay on. They wont be going on and off unless you are shutting the truck on and off. If you are flogging on it it will be running hot so fans will be on.

If they are going off it should be because the temp has dropped. Which is what they as soposto do.

I only have one of mine wired to come on automatically. The smaller one I still have on a switch. Never use the smaller one now but it is their if I need it.

Override would be nice to turn them off if you are running through water or ?

Agreed.

and an override for water crossings is a good idea.

When I originally set up an electric fan I ran the override OFF. Agree the water crossing are the best time to have an Efan but I just don't run across that much water here in SoCal :( lol

I understand the on and off points, I think it's 175/195 for my set up. It will bounce off the 200-205 mark all day long the way it's been. Trying to keep it closer to my 180 T-stat. When the truck gets worked more than trail driving, it's 210 and hit 230 while attempting Rubicon's Soupbowl

I'm just not a fan of how these things go on and off all the time. I can hear all my niethbor's cars' fans cycle while they are opening garage doors. On off on off on off .....

One reason I like my set up. Never cycles, the controller turns it on slow at the lower temp, all the way on at the higher temp.

The controller is not cheap though.

Doing some Fall cleaning. Haven't done much to the truck in a while, don't have the funds for it, so I'm dealing with what I can do for free. Getting ready for future plans. :)

First: Selling my front bumper. I'll be going to Kert's front center and I'll build some side protection off it. It will look similar to the bumper I had but much closer to the grill. Just looking to suck the winch into the grill and better my approach angle. I like the idea of incorporating the B52 hangers with the bumper. Looks much stronger. I plan to run close to stock length springs and push the front axle forward another inch or so(already 1.5" forward) I'm also looking to swap out my tranny cooler since it's leaking. My hydro assist cooler is on the chopping block too

I'd like to change my fin/tube cooler for my steering. I'd like to put in my old large plate type cooler. I'm wondering though, since the PSC kit came with the tube cooler, if the more restrictive plate cooler would do the system harm?

Finally pulled the broken heater box out from under the dash. WOW is there a lot of room for stuff now. Also been pulling more old wires from accessories I don't have anymore. Behind the dash is starting to look good. I ditched the cheapie stereo and will be going with a simple amp, probably mounted where the stereo was if there's room. Because this truck was my first attempt at wiring, there's been a lot of stuff that bothered me. Not safety scares, just blinking or dead gauge lights and a rat's nest of wires. So that's gotta get fixed. Trying to do so and keep it drive able. The center console is also going in the trash. Either a large ammo can or a Tuffy console will go in the center.

Another reason I'm cleaning out the back of the dash is to make room for the front half of the roll cage. Again, future plans... but I'd like to run the cage behind the dash and out into the engine bay where it will connect up with my shock hoops. Not sure yet if I'll go the the front bumper. The dash is holding up great but today I noticed it's cracked where it mounts to the A-pillar. More than likely from body flex, which I have plenty. LOL also found 3 steering box bolts loose, one I could take out by hand. Seems my truck is starting to feel like it been though Moab, Rubicon, local abuse, and some dumb urban wheeling :D

Oh yeah, even the defrost vents and insulation are gone. Makes a lot of room. Was able to suck my CB radio into the dash so it's not sticking out anymore. I've got some nice BlueSea fuse panels that will mount in there. That way, I can get rid of most of the EZ Wiring kit that's in the truck now. Will strip it down to bare essentials like blinkers, horn, ignition, and lights. Those are the only things I feel comfortable with the way they are. Everything else needs to be separate. Just seems I've outgrown the whole "fuse box" thing, need something better to build from.
