Bertha, picking up where Shewheeler left off.

Eeeenteresting. So what's the advantage of this over a traditional ant-wrap bar?

Random...and maybe I missed it...what size and type of tires are you going to run?

Looks just like what I built for my Dodge. My links are the same length as the rear d-shaft and mount on the frame next to it at the t-case. Poly bushings at the axle end and a spherical rod end at frame. Serves its purpose and didn't cause any weird side effects.

You could do like dueling made.. You don't need the two link for wrap, one should be fine. Just have to allow the link to move forward rearward but not up and down. Or else you'll bend the spring pack. Mainly the rear portion.

Less fab, less parts, less quirks over a single shackled wrap bar.

The tires are 35- 12.5- 17 BFG Baja TA's :pimp:

I gots 6 of em :D

That's what I want, no weird stuff :thumb:

I am familiar with single wrap bar setup. I need a 2 link setup. I don't want to deal with squat/anti squat quirks and I want balanced rear axle control.

I want as flat and neutral handling as I can get in a full size truck :D

Curious to see how the rear 2 link works, sounds like the ticket if it can work as well as you expect.

If it works for real desert race guys, it should be fine for me :D

The key to it working is investing the time cycling the suspension with different geometry til you find the best combo.

I'm only doing this once :D

Agreed, I want to try and make my truck a all around do everything type. I want to pre run and have a little crawling.

Have you looked at my build thread?

Good point regarding squat characteristics of the two link. Couh couch quarter elliptic

Yes I have :thumb:

Frizz! Don't go to Bens build thread unless you have a month to read through it!!:haha::haha:

I have been keeping up as he goes, so I'm ok :thumb:

What's wrong with quarter eliptic :dunno:

Had a very productive weekend thanks to my crew chief and his assistant :thumb::thumb:

They did their thing and I got a bunch of welding done.

Avery banged out the disc brake swap, only to be denied completion by sh*ttay caliper brackets. I don't remember whose brackets they are, but the bends and the holes were off :doah:

He was also slowed down a bit due to the Porta Power ram in my press taking a dump. We just threw the bottle jack in to push the studs out and just hammered them back in.

We were curious as to how much weight was being shed, so we busted out the bathroom scale :D

That's 95ish lbs. :eek1:

So the total weight savings equals just shy of one tire and wheel :pimp:

And some functionless bling courtesy of Avery :pimp:

And to top it off he did them on Monday

:sign11:

I machined some stock shafts like this a long time ago for the 14 bolt under my old stepside just cuz I thought it looked cool. My lathe doesn't have a big enough through hole so I asked Avery if he could do them. Now I just gotta hit them with some clear.

I actually remember those from last time on the stepside. I thought they were a cool detail.....and my opinion hasn't changed! :waytogo:

Thanks again! Parts should be here Friday, but Im still a little pissed at Ballistic.

I never knew the brake swap saved almost 40lbs:eek1:

Almost 40lbs x 2 :pimp:

That was back in the days of CHAZZZ MOOOOOOORAY, O.D.ing on bacon with Burt4x4, and drinking Petron in Hollister :pimp:

I miss those days!

Thanks :thumb:

Why mad at Ballistic?

I went with Ballistic to take advantage of their Labor Day 20% off sale. In my cart it said I was eligible for it, but it didn't come off during checkout. And it said no coupon code needed in the sale ad. Discount only came out to about 11%.

I emailed them two days ago about it and I have not heard anything.
