1: back k5 paritally into garage
2: position engine hoist behind vehicle and
3: realize that the lift you just installed doesn't leave enough clearance between the top and the garage door
4: say "d'oh":doah:
5: get slightly annoyed and heave top off by hand
6: go talk to the attractive ladies that are strolling by on their way to the neighborhood pool and slowed down to watch the crazy guy lifting a big "thingy" (their words, not mine).
7: accompany them to pool and have a nice afternoon :D.

this method for hard top removal can lead to soft top removal :wink1:. too bad it was only for the purpose of avoiding tanlines this time, but next time...who knows?

Yes, I think we're discussing the better kind of bikini top here.

To get the topic BACK on trucks and away from racks :haha: ... you guys keep talking about tops. Tops? What tops? Marty, where we're going, we don't NEED tops.

thanks fellas i had just painted and finished the top when i took those pics. i had rack and wing on it and i figured in the future i'll build a roof rack and i need to keep the holes so what do i put there? after me and my dad might near had a hernia i decided some LIFT POINTS!!!

So what Blue desert or forest are you driving in?

That's called Smurf-Camo.

Used for hunting Smurfs as it helps to sneak up on them better, and won't leave any visible residue when you run them over.

Special thanks to that clever paint scheme ,our golden state is SMURF-FREE!!:haha::haha:Nice job DREMU.

Dammit, you guys beat me to the punch.

Yes, my trucks are only camouflaged when parked in fields of other, tall, brown or blue randomly striped objects. You'd think they'd stand out like a sore thumb on the street, but people do NOT notice them... I think 'cuz they're SO odd-looking, folks' brains just ignore them.

And Greg, my sig clearly states URBAN Smurf camo; the SUBurban Smurfs are different, as they have barbecues in their sideyards with their neighbors after their kids' soccer games. :haha:

Oddly, IIRC Smurfs lived in the forest, so I s'pose calling it Urban Smurf is sort of an oxymoron anyway.

I have been sooo tempted to just ditch my hard top and go with my soft top only. But not just yet. my truck is still in the cage building stage and its out in the drive way covered with a tarp. Dont want the tube to start to rust. Want to get the cage powder coated first, then I might think about it. Need to get it secured too so people dont steel my seats and what not.

:smirk: fair enough. i have a few cell phone pics of them from the pool. i'll upload one or two after work. no pics of me lugging the top around, though. sorry.

for some reason, i couldn't edit my last post to add the pic. oh well. here's a pic of one of them doing the "oh no, not a pic of my face" routine. she wasn't quite fast enough to block it, though. they were giving me a hard time about sitting in the shade, but we have more sun than anyone could ever need here. i don't see the point in sitting right out in it when there's comfortable shade 3 feet away. sorry the cell takes pretty crappy pics.
