Black Betty - Formerly Blaze the Monster Machine

1984 K5 Project for Dad and kids
Man, that's some nasty rust for you not to be near salty water.

Previous owner used this truck as a mud truck down in Houston. Nothing but gumbo clay. Stuff is terrible.

Have you used the winch recently? I'd be surprised if it worked with those leads.

Ordered diy4x comp motor mounts and energy suspension transmission mounts because I looked at those and those are blown also. I gotta quit this rock crawling stuff. It’s expensive haha.

I had 2 different Holley blue pumps on my old truck and they were brutally loud. You could somewhat here it over open headers. Maybe the red pumps are different.

My holly blue was loud when I had my 383. It will be nice to see some gears and lockers in that thing.

Shop just called. Apparently I can’t count and I had a 3 pin carrier instead of a 4 pin so we gotta order a new carrier. Surprisingly it was actually a limited slip although it’s never worked. Tech said the clutches crumbled when he split it apart. Also need new inner axle seals on the front axle which I’m not surprised and one of the front calipers is grinding on a rotor so they are getting a new bracket to fix that. Always freaking something.

IMO the front inner axle seals should always be replaced whenever the carrier comes out. It's a cheap and easy thing to replace while it's apart.

This ^^ is a good rule to live by, too much effort to remove the carrier to not replace those seals.
