Maybe I'll just come spectate n bum rides...
Plenty of folks do that
Is there an official thread or website or something with specific details for newbs? I'd personally be looking for easy/moderate type stuff not to thrash my truck too much.
There will be a thread asking for recommendations on trails. The Blazer Bash web site will have trail descriptions for sign ups. It's still a little early to set these up.
We always have newbie runs. Usually scenic, with moderate wheeling. Being smart and listening to spotters will get you through.
We will post the link here when registration opens
And most guys are real awesome about spotting the vehicles that need to stay nice
If the planets align maybe. Lord knows that's a long trip from here.
Trains, planes, or automobiles. Any will get you close, then bum a ride.
There is an airport with connections from Denver.
A trip to Moab is definitely on the bucket list. Time off, the funds to go, and a way to persuade the family are the planets that need to be aligned.
New England / East Coast guys might consider looking at a semi to haul a few trucks out here and then drive out together or fly out to meet them. I've thought that it would be a good idea to even find storage for a truck and make another trip out of it later. Or drive out, wheel, fly back home then fly to the truck and bring it home. It breaks up the 2-3 day drive and lets you get a couple of western 'wheeling trips worked in.
Eileen and I have been discussing this. This year I will just bite the bullet and fork over the $1750 for fuel for the round trip in the semi. After that, I have to do something else.
Might just drive my truck out to put on the event and bum rides. But that would suck.
3400 miles round trip. 7mpg x $3.50.
That's a clever idea!
@NorCal69 @imiceman44 and I were talking about it and we're only 12hrs away. The thought of flying in the morning, wheeling in the afternoon is kinda cool though.
Especially if it was in a helicopter and you landed right there at Old City Park....
Im only 2.5 hrs from Moab and I have plenty of acres for storage if anyone needs to store a vehicle.
You Moved? Thought you were in CO?
In the process. End of June I will be in eastern Tennessee.
I'll be up for some of the more moderate trails.
