Blazer Bash 2023 last minute thrash.

Got mine back in the shop after daughter's car. 1 thing I need to do modify my parking brake cables to short now. Am considering lowering the mounting tabs

Replaced my bent drag link, chopped up some spacers for second cross member. Will have cross member both sides of t case skid plate.
Also decided I needed to redo the wiring to my fuel pump and trans cooler fan in the rear.
T case support rod to mod and in stall, change up my oil cooler adapter and route lines so Dr side Bell housing braces clears. Rear tie downs still arb compressor, all needing to be done. Leaving tomorrow for week trip to lost wages 2 days, then Seattle for 4

35 days to BB23, and I am plugging away. Had it together and took it apart have it almost back together, but need to take timing chain cover and oil pan.
Still on list
ARB compressor install
Cargo tie downs
Lock spare down.
Baja lights installation
I'm sure half dozen other things

Cage install is starting... hopefully it will be at least fully welded/painted and have the C-pillar installed. No hope of having the full frame tie-in or triangulation complete before September. Some cage is better than no cage. Also need to weld up the tube door kit.

Brakes on both axles?
Yes, I got a pretty good deal on a complete axles, springs and all hardware setup from Johnson Trailer Parts. I have used them a few times in the past, shipping was a bit slow this time {2 weeks} but they kicked some LED tail lights and extra hub covers my way for free for the delay.

Well I will post in here. I didn't tear into this sooner because of other stuff in life, so then a simple reseal job snowballed into investigation and finding worn parts.
20230826_122132.jpg20230826_123027.jpgI am holding off on registration until I talk to ORD on Monday. I need a doubler shaft and 32 spline 205 input shaft. Gotta find out if they have them on the shelf.

That sucks. Good that you caught it now and not on Steel bender or the like.
Yep. I almost said screw it and just tightened the bolts holding the 205 onto the doubler plate. But then I thought better of it. Otherwise, I wouldn't have found it until failure.
Glad that I used my peanut properly and saved a future headache.

Cage is going well. B and C ties to the frame took a lot longer than I thought it would. Probably add about 4 more tubes tomorrow (all side to side diagonal bracing) and call it good enough for now. Tube doors are all welded up and ready to slap in place.PXL_20230826_201301726.MP.jpg

And then I find this:

So now I'm adding a rotor change to the list.... :dunno:

I’m diggin the cage pics. I really want to to add a brace like your upper C to lower B like yours but I’m afraid it’ll be a backseat head buster. Will you be using a rear seat?

No rear seat. Removing the swing tire carrier and putting the spare tire where the rear seat was. With the X-brace I will likely be adding to the B-hoop, it will effectively separate the vehicle into two sections, the rear will be cargo only.

As it sits right now, I can just barely hit my head on the halo. So I will also be dropping the front seats 1-1.5" down at some point. Padding for now though.

What did ORD have to say got parts ?
I just got back home with new parts!!
I got to BS with Stephen for a bit, even though he is busy with work and UA prep of the Convertible K30. He even helped me unload 205 cores! :saweet:

He gave me some points to check on reassembly too!
Gonna miss him in Moab, as he won't make it due to UA being too close to the Bash date.
Didn't get to talk with James, but I didn't remember to take him a few peaches anyway.

Spare 203 case is loaded up in the truck, thanks to my son!
