Blazer Bash September 4-7 2025

2 Rivan drove from the very southern end of So America to Los Angeles, exc for the darien gap. In support of an Ian McGregor film.

So my wife is having reconstructive foot surgery and they scheduled it for August 27th. we are trying to get a earlier date and she knows its right before Blazer Bash. If the current schedule holds I'm not gonna make it this year and I will have to wait till next year. Needless to say I am super bummed, but my wife's health comes first. I hope the schedule can be moved up.

Dumb question, total rock newbie, y'all think I could do hells revenge in a stock Taco on 31's? I gotta drive home.
Hells doesn't have a ton of really technical, flexy big tire stuff. It's more of an approach and departure angle and traction trail. The steepness of the climbs is no joke. I don't think I would be very comfortable without a rear locker. I am sure it's been done on 31's on a stock truck but don't under estimate the trail, it's serious business.
I would try fins and things first, it's hells light.

Hell's Revenge is a mind f#ck for a lot of newbies. Just talked to a local club member that ran it for the first time in a capable enough Rubicon and they were like, "Hell no, I don't need to run that trail again!" I remember how I felt after the first time running it 20 years ago; my nerves were on edge all day. That club member said they had no problem with Fins n Things.

That said, your truck could do that trail, especially taking bypasses. I always tell people, if you're likely to only make it to Moab wheeling once, you should do Hell's Revenge. It will make you nervous but it's not as dangerous as a lot of other trails. All the better if you're going with a group like Blazer Bash.

I agree with @mrk5, for me it was a total mind f#%ck. It’s not a hard trail but it makes ya pucker. I think if you skip escalator, the gate, and the hot tubs you’d be fine on 31s….that breakover right after the enternace will need to be hit at the right angle with 31s to avoid saddlebag.

I've done Hell's Revenge in Pigeonrat. We skipped most of the obstacles, and got winched up Hell's Gate, but otherwise it was fine. Pigeonrat is basically a stock Nissan Pathfinder running 29" tires.

In short, You'll be fine.

It's a good one to do as a group ride. A lot of it would've scared me when I did it the first time if I was alone but I was behind other guys similar to me and I was like he made it so I guess I can.
I agree with this. I rode up Hells Gate with @Capt Ron because I wasn't sure how the carb would handle it. We followed @cheavyk10 for most of the trail and that definitely helped me judge where the truck would be on certain lines, gave me a warmer fuzzier feeling.
