Blazer build with pics

Not a very exciting update but if your bored feel free to check this video I made out. Has a lot of ck5 and pirate rigs in it. Thanks

Also cleaned up my $30 dollar craigslist hitch. Had to do some cutting and capped the ends off. Who needs welding skills when you have flapdiscs :).
The term "polishing a turd" comes to mind.

The one on Big Ugly looked about that rusty (plus my ex-FIL and I made it) but it worked. I ended up having it Rhino Lined. Not rusty now.

it looks nekeid without the bnumpers.nice add on the hitch.mines saved my gas tank more than once coming off a big drop.im eventually going to make a rear bumper outa 2x6 1/4 inch tubing.not sure where or how much that will cost.id like to get ahold of a h1 bumper with the d rings already installed.i had one lined up when i was in the army and then they said they needed to use it at the last minute.kinda sucked.

That ain't rusty. When I took the hitch off my '89 to sell it, I could see through it in some areas. I was able to fold one of the side plates over by hand. Needless to say, I didn't sell the hitch.

The scary thing is; I used that same hitch to flat tow my '91 over 200 miles. :yikes:

nice k5 dude. i think ima do the rattlecan od paint it looks knarley. i have a quick ? how did you get it up on center blocks and lumber when you had it off the frame.

Thanks guys . The way I got it on the lumber was I set everything up with the car assembled. So I had the cement blocks on each side ready to go. Then I unbolted it from the frame and used an engine crane with a chain bolted to the front clip and raised it high enough to stick the front board under. With the front on the board I went to the back with the engine crane and bolted it to the rear end and raised it up, and then slid the board under the back. Then you just roll the frame on out from under it! I pulled the engine before I did this whole process. Also make sure you have the cement wide enough for the tires to roll out. Getting it back on was the hard part...

Hey guys, got to drive it today! Finally! Did some 4 wheeling in the snow in the backyard. Everything works good just need an exhaust system.

Havent gotten much a chance to test the suspension. Tested the engine alot though :).

What did you paint the wheels with, typical semi gloss rattle can? They look good. I have a set of those for my 3/4 tons and thinkin about painting them black.

all thats on are headers at the moment. the paint on the wheels is satin black rattle can yep. just make sure you do a decent job or it will chip off really easily.

awesome man.almost ready for the road.most places will do a preinspection for like 20 bucks and tell you what you need to do for them to pass it.all emissions stuff has to be there for the visual though.so make sure you have that stuff in place.

havent updated in a while, got it inspected finally, ran an exhaust, rebuilt the carb and hei/plug wires/plugs. took it out and beat on it for a while no problems at all except my damn power steering belt keeps falling off and it just completely snapped earlier so anyone have any solutions?

crappy advice:
i had that happen out on the trail before, and the ultimate fix was to get a new gates belt and tighten the hell out of it. but my pulley is not straight. i was using ****ty belts and they would stretch and i am missing that little bracket for the PS pump so the pulley is just slightly misaligned. the gates belts are going on a couple years now still on the crooked pulley but i was throwing ****ty belts monthly.

napa belts seem to last the longest for me.im not sure if you checked alignment yet of the crank pulley and power steering.if its even a lil off it will rub on the outer ring of the pulley and tear them up.also check the outer lip of the pulley and make sure its not sharp.ive had to replace a pulley that was sharp.i didnt know if slightly grinding it down or sanding it would be a good idea so i just got a new one.i believe it was also the ps pulley.glad to see it is road worthy.mine is coming along slowly.i hate that i only get a few hours a week to mess with it.
