Blazer is really done. Last pictures while she is still mine.

Wow Kert, glad your past that glitch....Hope all is smooth from here on out. I wanna see that beast.

Only one big hurdle left that I can anticipate. Getting the fuel injection to play nice with the cadillac. We have a backup plan for that but hopefully its not necessary.

I didn't get much done today. Got some more of the fuel injection wiring sorted out. Installed the MSD 6 ignition box and got it wired up. Ran out of small wire heat shrink. Really not too much wiring left to do, thank God for that.

The list is shrinking.

Plan B: wheel the CrewCab. :D

I'm sure we'll find places for you to go in the CC while in Moab...:pimp:

P.S. I'm also sure the AZ guys could help out with that. Methinks 2 years ago they were all down to 'wheeling the tow rigs on BB Sunday...

OH Man, my wife would have my....

Have to be done in 2 wheel drive only. For the NV4500 swap I stuck with the drivers side tcase it came with. Don't have time to swap the front axle out to match the tcase. Just using the GM60 to get me to Moab and back. Hopefully I can get back to that before winter sets in. Need the 4 wheel drive pretty regular around here in the winter months. Especially with the flotation the rear end of that thing has.

Here's where we ended the day.

Fuel injection wiring making its first appearance in the engine bay. Pretty much all sorted out for where they need to go.

Looks real good! The funny part is it looks like you ran the wiring into the air cleaner! ha ha

On a seperate note, I don't see why that XFI system would care what kind of engine it is if the tune is right. My cousins use that system on there 1200 hp 632 BBs in their dragsters. I think you'll get it just fine once you learn it.

Your right, it does look like the all go in the air cleaner. That's funny. Got most of the stuff hooked up today and had a little confusion. got to talk to the boys at FAST and get some things cleared up.

I think your right though, It should work with just about any engine. We used the GM harness since that was closest to the Cadillac engine. Cylinders are numbered the same just on opposite sides of the engine so the injection harness is basically upside down compared to a chevy. Doesn't matter in the least. You tell the computer the firing order anyway. There are alot of things the injection system can do that I'm not sure I'll ever use. Some, i think I'll find a slick use for in the future, just no time right now to play around with it.

Awesome build! just amazing!:waytogo:

Thanks!

Went back to the shop for an hour or so tonight and wired up the alternator. One more item down.

All wiring is now complete. Done. Over. Finished, and thank God!

Did you use a 425 midsump pan?Thats a common problem with them that the rods hit the pan on a 500. Not so sure I like where the oil filter is but if it works:dunno:. Hopefully FASt is willing to work with you on getting this running. I know that Potters did an engine several years ago with a FAST system and they never got it to run on a dyno. But it ran like a champ with a dominator.

Yep, its a 425 mid sump. I had this pan on the previous 500 and they didn't hit so I guess I'd say it was the larger rods that caused it this time.

FAST has been pretty good so far as well as Kevin Thompson at hot rod solutions.net. We'll see.

I hope to get the laptop hooked up to it today and start setting some of the parameters. Waiting for some fuel line pieces before I can actually start it. Hope to have it running this weekend.

Can't wait to see how this all works out, I have been lookin at the XFI setup for down the road when I build my 406 I have sittin in the shop

Fuel lines are a done deal. Got the laptop talking to the ECU and some preliminary parameters set up as well. Working with a guy from FAST for a base tune. Hope to have that tomorrow.

Got alot of small items finished up last night. Got some winch cable in place. Needs to be stretched and rolled tight. Throttle cable hooked up and the coil mounted.

It's all coming together pretty quickly now. Only two major jobs left are the shifter modifications and the drive shafts. The rest is smaller stuff.

Roller fairlead has been fabricated and installed. Air intake tube is finished all the way into the engine now.

Drive shafts are just another couple hours from being finished. 1480 joints front to back.

Shifters are done underneath the floor. Got to make the handles themselves yet. Couple hours worst case scenario.

Fire extinguisher mounts are fabbed. Need to be welded on yet and then painted.

We're in the home stretch!!!

Nice work.
Can't wait till you get the tune dialed in, you better post some videos of it starting up and settling into a nice nasty idle :D

Drive shafts are done!

I can shift the tcases from the drivers seat. I can't say done since they don't have any shift knobs. Right now they look like kabobs waiting for a person to be skewered on them.

Only one major fabrication left to do. Hope to knock that out this weekend. Everything else is just buttoning things up.

OH, by the way, if you are looking for after market ignition components, MSD all the way!!!!
