I thought he had a 4bt

edit: nvm that was his truck

Got the shaved razorback diff cover done today. Next step is to setup the gears again and make sure all is good to go there. Then I can finally start on the back bone/wraptor anti wrap bar which is what kicked all this off in the first place. Perfect example of "while I have it apart..."

How much of a gain in clearance do you figure you ended up with?

And now you have 3/8" plate on the bottom, instead of 1/8" factory too!

Yeah, I'd say its worth it. Getting more clearance at that particular spot can only happen in a couple different ways. Different axle housing entirely would probably be the simplest. I think the Dana 70 is better in that regard and comparable in strength so you wouldn't be giving up anything there. Not sure how much better the clearance is though. Pretty standard on the install as well. Pretty much an apples to apples comparison. Of course Mog axles would be way better in clearance but you'd be getting in to some substantial expenses right away and I think its apples and oranges again.

Bigger tires would be the expensive way around. Forcing deeper gears and yadda yadda and now.... You can still shave it and most of us probably would.

Managed to get the spring perches swapped out for a lower profile set. Trying to gain clearance between the axle and the fuel tank crossmember.

The new perches have a second built in purpose. Pics of that coming soon hopefully.

Don't know how far I'll get this weekend so don't get your hopes up to high there Dave. Another busy weekend ahead of us. We'll see though, It's possible.

Wow, I like the sides on the spring plates. Are you gonna offer those for production? My springs like to twist and I didn't even think of that solution.

It is a possiblity. Lot of new things i'm trying out on this rear end so we'll have to see where things end up.
