So I decided to get my Nova running and maybe do some mods to it.

I bought it in 91/92 after looking for a number of years to find a 1968.
Had a six banger in it. No A/C no PS a very basic car which is just what I want.

Put a big block in it ran that for awhile . Then went to a circle track race so sold the motor bought a a race car.

The Nova sat in the back yard for awhile with no motor or trans. So I sold it in 98 and we moved to AZ. I was missing my car really bad did for about two years. Got a hold of the guy I sold it to, he still had it. So got in a tow truck drove back up to Utah and bought her back.

Put a 307 in it, thought it was a 350. Never got it to pass emissions. Never got her driving regularly.

Where she is at now. Has a 9in rear axle w/4:10 posi with Strange axles. Four wheel disc's. Still has the 307, with a rebuilt TH350. Never moved under her own power with this set up. Basically been sitting since 2000 or so

I have a solid lifter, roller rocker, camel back heads, 10.5 to 1 motor in the shop. Also have a Glide that needs rebuilding and a 3500 TCI converter. I also have a lot and I mean a lot of parts and stuff sitting in the shop ready willing and able to go in and on.

Not sure if I am just going to get her running or do a motor swap or what. Going to have a spare big block when the 6bt swap gets done but nothing yet.

The exhaust is new(?) but to small for the other motor. The trans is good, but other motor needs the stall. Needs a new front window and bunch of rust repair and has a bit of dents. Interior needs a bunch of work. Front seats are junk. Need to find new front ones. Have a rear one needs a new cover. Door panels are needing to be replaced and the radiator support needs to be replaced I did some dumb cutting at one time.

I did drive her out from NJ in 93 and DD drove her for a number of years. So I have hope, now time for some change

When Keith says he has alot of parts just imagine what you would have than triple it LOL

Good to see you working on the old Nova Keith. I say leave the dents and stuff for now and get it running with the glide and 10:1 motor and go have fun at the dragstrip for a couple years

Like me some novas. Even old green ones

Heck maybe get the 307 running to drive it around and work out whatever bugs pop up from sitting 12 years. Then as you drive it you decide what you want to do with it.
If your like me then you decide your builds by what parts you have laying around or you change your mind so much you cat think straight.

I'm on a handling kick lately, and don't care about paint or color.

I think I am going to do that. Get it running, finish the brakes, get some seats in it, get the electric fan in and working. Basically running and driving and in the mean time build the Glide then put it and the 350 in.

Have to flush the gas tank and clean the carb and fuel line.

I have always been partial to that body and I am happy to see you working to bring it back to life.

As others have said, get the 307 running and worry about the rest later. Enjoy it for a while, your taste might change over time and what you want today may not be what you want tomorrow.

I recall an oil filter problem with the nova back in the day :whistle:seems to be a pattern..You gonna tell them or am I :woot:

Got the seats out and the interior cleaned up.

Got the wheels off and the trunk cleaned out also.

The Rear axle is from a 75 Bronco it bolts in and is one and a half inches narrower then the factory axle.

Looks like I need new U-bolts, front and rear brake lines. I also need some 1/2 in or so wheel spacers so my drag rims fit.

Have to do my shock relocation bar, which is hanging in the shop. Going to do frame connectors, buy the bolt in ones then weld them in.

I may end up just buying a carb cleaning jug and let the carb sit in it for a few days.

The drivers front floor has been replaced once almost needs it again. The rear floor both sides have some holes but all in all not as bad as I remember it.

I have new front calipers and rotors. The rear rotors are band new also just have some surface rust from sitting for 12 years.

The drive shaft is also brand new and its a "Woody". Although I promised never to admit where it was built because said company only does 4x4 shafts.

I also cut some of the tail pipes off from the exhaust that did not fit after I put traction bars on it.

I need a color choice to for the rear axle and stuff. the body is staying that pea green. The Motor is orange cuz that is how Chevy's were made maybe I will just do the diff that color and paint bolt heads on the back

all black and run it, too many details :) Dip the whole car in a pool filled with one color and be done. haha

Yea I am keeping the pea green, it is original. I was more thinking the rear axle.

The rotor is shot that is how I bought the disc's brakes for the front. The car came with drums so I found some one selling a set and put them on. Just haven't put the new rotors on or calipers yet or even brake lines yet.

Heck yeah on keeping the green. I have a bone stock green car I want to get on the road soon. Keeping the body as is and putting my circle track take engine in itn
