Blazer's 68 Nova "Stephanie"

Had a mild heart attack when I drained the oil out of the race motor I undid the drain plug and water, as in a lot came out for a number of seconds as in 10 or 15 or so. So yeah was like crap, so pull the Pan no rust anywhere. Pull the intake no rust anywhere. Pull the valve covers no rust anywhere. So put a socket on the bolt on the crankshaft and turned it over. Turns over fine, no issues, no noise, nothing weird, nothing sticking, everything works great.

So yeah heart attack fixed. ......

Do you have an acid stripper close by? That would make the headers like new inside and out!

355, 4 bolt main, 202 fuelie heads, big cam, victor intake, crank may be forged dont remember have to look. Pete Jackson gear drive, not in yet, probably going to run a 750 Holley.

What is a “big cam”?

The motor was built for my Super Stock Malibu that I ran. Had to stay at 10.5:1 compression so that is what it has. This is the cam specs. We will see how it does. Figure if it needs some more the headers were really cheap so no issue with me buying some others and attaching some hair dryers to them.

How do you know they are fuelie heads? Whats the casting numbers?
What are the pistons?
Come on man, you can’t just tease us like that!

Casting numbers ??? What, so I can't just make things up :D

Block -3970014 it's the 4 bolt variety
Heads - 3782461 E65 & E85 I think that is the build date. They are the 202 variety. Had a set - - - - 292 casting that were 194's and had a crack so got the 461's a replacement.

I had at one time had an alternator bracket to mount an alternator with the long water pump will have to see if I still have it.

Pistons don"t remember, getting a bore scope to take a look but it has been 14 yrs since this thing was built. I am guessing I just did a set of forged flat tops of some kind. I do remember I used super thin head gaskets to get as much comp as I could with them.

Thing that sucks is I gave away sink on a cabinet because my wife did not want to see it. Cabinet was metal, sink was metal, little work and a pump and could have had a parts washer.
