Blazer's 85 Suburban "Twinkie"

I guess I missed it. Why won't stock glass fit? Did you narrow the actual body and not just the front and rear?

It will still fit for now, you get a really bad dead air spot behind it which deposits all the dust and dirt on the front seat area when it is in.

Could you try some air deflectors on the side instead to prevent that?

And with no windshield this does not happen. Get yourself some goggles and a bandana

OK for the record since I seem to be getting flak over this....I am not putting the windshield back in.

Nor am I making a new windshield.

I am doing a six inch tall bug shield size thing where the windshield was before.

So I think my man card will remain intact.

Curious to see how this works out as I feel that I may have to do something similar with my truck one day

I was actually the one who asked about putting a windshield back in . . . . .

Did you buy this thing already converted to 4x4, or did you do the swap?

Martin

GM never sold this body style of Suburban with 4x4 and a big block.

I thought he said it use to be 2wd earlier in the thread?

I went back and looked. I must have been thinking of a different thread.

in this months petersons 4x4 theres a blurp about a guy who uses clear vinyl sheets with snaps as a temp wind screen/wind shield..the vinyl is cheap enough you just replace it when it gets to scratched.

So got some new tires, well used tires to drive on so I don't kill my good ones. They are like 38's and will work great for my DD times.
