Blue85 catches on fire

The adjuster told me he's going to float about $12k to the insurance company. Then I wait to see what they come back with. He's looked up all of the individual parts from Classic Industries and such and hasn't really found anything that's not available.

Try looking for NOS parts. This could get very costly.

Meanwhile, look what I scored for $100 today. Only thing missing is the wiring harness. The HVAC box was full of mouse nest, so it will probably need complete tear-down/clean/paint the steel parts before going into service, but no cracks and fairly complete other than the typical broken blend door clip.

That’s a hell of a good deal for $100! Those later model tall seat stands are going for more than that on fb.

Nice score, but delete that until you get your insurance check....;)

I have a complete 85 Chevy wiring harness, if you need one! It is for a truck, but should get you everything you need. It came out of a 1985, a/c, cruise, p/w truck.20230911_094316.jpg

My custom engine harness is hosed, but I'm sure repairable.

After peeling the shell of molten plastic off of it, it seems the ECU is alive. I was able to connect and offload my latest tune. Still need to simulate a tach signal to verify all I/O.

I've been Sawzalling the ducts/plenums/harnesses apart to remove them. Weird that while my heater core is now exposed, my probably 20-year-old bend door clip fix is fine. I'll swap this into the replacement HVAC box, which has a broken one, but also since that blend door was partially eaten by mice.

I've been telling the wrong year. I bought it in 1998.
