"Bolt-on" Single cab conversion

Somehow I missed this...

As I recall, (don't feel like looking through the thread) the dude that has the original molds is willing to run off as many as we want. Obviously larger quantities would lower the price per unit.

He doesn't have the means to manufacture the metal lower bulkhead, but did say he'd included detailed technical drawings for us to either make our own, or have a shop that does metal fab work do it.

It's only dead cause we didn't act. I hit money problems, and now my K5 isn't even running. :(

PM'd you.

That bottom part looks fairly easy to fab.

Can you do a step by step install and maybe take some measurements of every piece, as I need to make the lower piece.

I am going to make one for the Blazer and my Suburban.

Thanks!

Can you do this for me?

Wheels are turning. Possibly for a hard tonneau as well. Need a show of interest to see who would would be willing to buy them.

Hard tonneau looks like this /\.

That is the exact look I want....IMHO that's bad ass

Seems like the hard tonneau or even a soft one, if done correctly, would be a good alternative to doing a bottom section for the halfcab. It could cover the rear window opening as well.

I have a meeting with a Fiberglass guy TODAY! He comes well recommended in all composite systems, so I am stoked.

He is in town which is great.

If this comes to fruition, I will need to borrow someone's Blazer to mock up the new units and to do an instruction manual with pictures.

Any questions, concerns?

Who is truly interested?
Who would pay $750 for one tomorrow?

Please all candid feedback is appreciated. I want to make this viable for ALL involved.

Cheers!

is the $750 for the top and lower? would it use a stock pickup window?

They takethe window out of a Dodge 79.5 and up reg cab truck.

I have a line on three of the halfcabs but I would like to see a larger number produced to satisfy the masses.

It would be for everything plus shipping. I know where I can get the windows, but not sure if they would come with the correct weatherstripping, so I would have to figure that out, but I plan on offering it as a complete kit and pieces if need be. A few have asked about JUST the top or bottom.

OH, it would not come with the tonneau cover at this time.

Yes sir! What do you mean by the second part? Are you saying that you want to see some happy customers before you commit? I TOTALLY understand as I am the EXACT same way.

Cheers!

Just meaning I would like to see you or someone else (preferably a ck5 member) provide a permanent solution for future interest. Glad to see things are happening on this.

Gotcha! Thanks brother. I hope I can get this done for the community. Will know here fairly shortly.

I still need some help with the metal portion as I don't have a any measurements, but I will work that out here shortly.

May know where there are plans for the lower section.

I built my own half cab, originally built this:

Wanted a back window so I sectioned the blazer top and added some plexi glass:
