"Bolt-on" Single cab conversion

350 huh? thats husslin right there.

a quality repro would be bitchin, hell even just the window part. i can do the lower half.

I am just kidding obi. I know you and if money wasn't tight, then I would give you the damn thing or at least let you hook me up with a trade.

It looks like we are going into business together, when I get the cab. Once we work up the deal, we will get you guys an inexpensive alrernative.

Cheers!

I saw that top posted but to far to run and look at it. I am really busy right now building customers buggies but it looked like a really good deal. I will be in the Houston area after Thanksgiving for Autorama so if you gret it let me know and I will come by and see what we can do. The price is really right on it that for sure.

I am also thinking we can make the lower piece out of reinforced fiberglass.

Of course mine is going on a Suburban! :)

Autorama is one of my clients, I work at the Hilton, next door. I will have a STACK of tickets!

We need to sit down and talk about this and get some ideas and do this. I am stoked.

Obi- I posted before I aw your post! I agree!

Cool sounds good. Shoot me an e-mail if ya score it and shoot me some good pictures of it and we can setup a meeting time hopefully before Thanksgiving. I will be there probably Friday and Saturday. Deep frying Turkeys on Thursday. Yea my thought exactly build a mold for the back lower wall and reinforce it with coremat to prevent rust and keep it fairly light weight. I hope you can snag it soon before it gone. Oh my e-mail [email protected]

Hey I just saw a picture of your burb project. You will enjoy mine that is all steel conversion we built about 12 years ago before Chevy Avalanches came out. Can't post pics yet, have not hit my 15 posts to allow links yet

Yeah, I have been wanting to do mine since the 90's. I have had the truck since the early 2000s, but it was my grandfather's new.

Got your pic. Really neat looking!

yeah, sorry guys...

My personal situation has had a lot of ups and downs the time since I started replying to this thread. I would've liked to do the group buy deal, but this sounds promising.

If we can get an alternate deal going, that'd be unreal.

i picked up one of the half tops for my 72 in the junkyard.i stepped on it and said what the hell is this.took it up front and paid 20 bucks for it.still gotta mount it and figure out a bulkhead solution for the bottom.but 20 bucks and i have the halftop so i can figure that out later.i always thought these looked real cool but only seen them on jeeps in person til i found mine.

Well, Jon it is a go!

I will be picking up the top, if you will, this weekend.

One problem.

I need a blazer to test fit and use as a mockup jig for building the bottom part.

I really want to find some rusty tub and cut it up for a jig while we build the new units and molds. 76-91

Anyone got anything near East Houston?

My idea is to have these about half the price for what was offered before. That might be impossible, but when Texasbuggy and I get together in a few weeks we will hammer all the BS out and get you guys something that is affordable and at least as good as the original.

Now a few questions.

Who wants one?

What improvements would you make? What options would you want?

Happy Veterans day and God Bless.

Wish I woulda know you guys would need a 77-91 tub, I scrapped one over the summer.... don't think the hardtop had ever been off of it.
