so i put the hood on the abortion today, and shut it, well i forgot to assure the hood release cable was hooked up, and its not, how can i release that latch now?

I think if you remove the grill you can get to it easily.

drill a hole in radiator support where lever is and stick a skrewdriver in there to move the tab.

seriously I'd try to drill a hole in rad support and try using a screwdriver or pick to release it. I'm on the road right now so I don't have access to mine to really be able to help much. Good luck

well,isn't THAT special!! thats why i put the 79 clip back on. and i would go with hood pins.

BTW, I break a set or two of hood locks every year with all the twisting
I do to my truck. Pins are stronger though.

if the grille isn't in it you should be able to reach up with a screwdriver and release it.
