I should have some pics Thursday or Friday. I went with a black pearl. Should be interesting.

rice is grown in paddies not fields.:D

your springs are probably sagged from years of use. get yourself a set of 2" and run the 33's you wanted to.

In the rice field, down the road to the rice field, to the rice drying and storage facility.... and maybe even to the local pizza parlor if I feel like it. It will be with me 8 hrs a day and I want something nice. It is going to be my work truck. I'll have some of my hand tools, power tools, air tools, onboard air, onboard welding, torch, and generator, and all in a nice comfotable A/C'd crew cab. Thats what it will be doing.

Now, mister supersize. Why would I care what wheels or paint you like? Even more, why would I care if you don't like my choice?:screwy:

Quit craping in my thread, go find one about funny tail lights and leave the rest of us to chat. Thank you.:p:

Rice is grown in fields that are devided up into very large "checks." I guess [shrug] one could call it a paddy.

Two problems with the lift idea.

1. I just plain don't want to have to put a lift on and I like the way the stockers ride.

2. I bought the 33"s and welds pictured earlier, but put them on my Ram Cummins instead. They are too big for the K30. I don't really want 33's that much on the K30, I am going to buy either a set of new 16x8 MT Classic 2's or a set of same size Weld typhoons I am eyeballing. My Michelin M/S's that came off my Ram are 265/70 R16 load rating E and will go on said new rims and will fit without any lift on the K30.

Thats the plan, for now it's time to wait for the paint to dry!:thumb:

man, why can't i find 1 of these in desent shape!

That is one thing no one can knock about California, we have OLD vehicles that are rust FREE! But.... the liberals don't want us driving them anyway. It's kind of bitter sweet one could say. Smog 2 is just peachy out here.:doah:

Regardless, 3+3 K30's are pretty hard to find, for sale anyway. 3 years ago I let a nice one go by for $1200 in the paper, owner had no idea what he had and just made a guess what it was worth. I vowed not to miss out on the next one. Took three years to find it.

Ok, here goes Super Newbie question!!

Can I fit a 33x12.50 tire with a 16.5x9.75" on this truck without a lift? I know it can be done with a K5, but for some reason this truck doesn't look to sit quite as tall, with the weight of the CC and .Ute bed maybe?

Found some Weld Scorpio V's 16.5x9.75" used for $250, and have some just ok Cooper 33x12.50's on it.

Before you all jump in...."add a lift"... this is a work truck guys, no lift. Just looking for something that will look super sharp with the fresh paint and provide a smidgin' more floatation getting through the rice field.

If you had jsut bought a Dodge you could have fit 33's stock, lol.

So you bought it, good, thats a good deal.

I see a theme: Black with Blacked out windows, shiny welds and some stacks belching Black smoke, after it gets the Cummins, now we're talking.

Well, the 16.5x9.75" Welds that I talked about a page or two ago as candidates...they got bought, but went on the Dodge, as a matter of fact..;)

You've got it buddy, but with oxy/acce. tanks poking up from the middle of the bed and a hose reel towards the rear.

Lets see...

1. blacked out winders... DONE, thanks to the previous owner.

2. Black pearl, it should be sprayed on in the morning, body work and prep should have finished this afternoon.

3. Shiny Welds, I'm working on that...

4. Stacks and smoke. Well, hopefully one day there will be a 6BTA Cummins with a built 4spd Dodge auto. For now the 454/Th400 will do.

Any current pics on this jewel? Im curious to see how the paint turned out, and whether I like it or not.:D

Actually, I picked it up finally today from the paint/body shop, the pearl black looks great. I just finished installing the billet grille/bowtie a few hours ago! I am debating to post pics on the soonest sunny day (raining here and will be tommorrow too) or just wait another couple of days after I get my Welds/Michelins on it.

Hmm... It's sitting in my shop just as pretty as can be, I've got to keep it out of the rain lol...;)

More pics!

I'll have much better ones of it in the sunshine and nice aluminum Welds with new tires on Saturday.

Waiting for UPS to bring me these...

Once again, it's not going to be an offroad truck. It will spend 80-90% of it's life with me cruising up and down onroad. All I need 4wd for with this truck is just that little bit of help when I would be spinning in 2wd in wet pasture, trying to drag a trailer through plowed ground, a slightly mushy field, and for the added traction for pulling on things.

Wow. That truck looks magnificent with the Black Pearl. I love to see clean work trucks, too many guys just beat theirs into the ground, never wash em, etc. Black is a PITA to keep clean, but it's worth it. That's what touchless auto car washes are for. How far did you go with the recolor, did you touch anything under the hood or in the cab, etc? I'm going to recolor my '80 one of these days, probably to Victory Red or a darker silver/ grey (from blue).

A little OT, but here's a before and after shot of my last work truck project:

What a waste of truck, a sweet k30 with a ute box on it, and you are going to use it "on road":haha: . That paint job looks sweet on there, best looking work truck Ive seen in a while. Definitely need to see some pics of that baby when the welds get installed.
