Looks good!

Start browsing craigslist for a set of wheels/tires.

No idea what your goals are with this truck, but with $700 remaining, i'd hit maintenance items first.

From there, craigslist set of 33's in the $3-400 range, 1" add a leaf's front/rear, and new ubolts. Should be good to go for a while!

and the REAL question.....did your wife let you back in the house or are you sleeping in the K5? :haha:

I'm ok with rally's if ya up the tire size...

that's what I originally ran on the K5.... and MANY chevelles back in the day for that matter..

Nothing against the wheels. But, in my opinion, you often do better buying wheel/tire sets on craiglist. The deals don't look so great when you have to pay to mount/balance. You can always swap rims and sell the unwanted set to cover mount/balance costs, but depends if it's worth the hassle

I too dig the rally wheels, I would rock that thing stock for as long as I could stand it and make a wish list after driving it that way for a couple of months. You might be surprised how much your "needs" change once you get some seat time. Sweet truck, my congratulations on a good buy.

Thanks guys! im going to give it about a week of driving to make sure no surprises come up and then ill start doing some maintenance and such (besides oil change/anti freeze all the obvious ones) ill post interior pics when i get a chance tonight once im home.

What gears? 3.73s

AC still functional? ac kinda works it needs recharged but its R12 (as im sure you know) im going to look for 134 conversion

How is the interior? has a stain on rear bench by the right seat belt buckle by the wheel well which looks like i can get out. Other than that it is really clean. the cig lighter doesnt work (the wire isnt there) so i have to re wire that so i can use my cell phone charger accessory

Still have the TH700R4? yes it does and shifts pretty darn well. :woot:

im going to eventually do 33's (maybe 35's)and 4" lift with the shackle flip in rear.

and the REAL question.....did your wife let you back in the house or are you sleeping in the K5? :haha: .... well, i live on base and because i didnt have it registered they didnt let me drive it on base (a higher up had a power trip) so i got a ride home from my buddy. My wife was asleep and hadnt seen it yet. so today she came to my work on her lunch, checked it out and she was impressed (thank god) and said she is happy with what i bought. :woot:

I agree. Don't lift it if you don't have to. I have a 2" lift on mine and don't want to go up any more if I can cut enough to clear 35s and cross-over steering.

Look into the cost of a recharge of r12. It varies by county/state on how much you are allowed to add.

I recharged mine, and its going strong a few years later. It blows colder anyways.

So far i havent found someone who will recharge it. But

2" wouldn't be bad and I really dont want to cut into this body.
This thing is way too nice. Ill get another K5 down the road to make
my actual toy. This will be nice for moderate trails n such
