Bought the truck $3200

Drove it another 60 miles today, did great once again.. found out the tailgate doesn't like to go down theres a "trick to open it" and haven't mastered it yet.
but other than that its great.

how do you go about 2 inch lift on a K5 seems every one does 4 inch? Whats wrong with 3 inch T/C springs and ORD 4 shackle flip? Let's see pictures to see difference perfer with 1 ton rear axle.

new shoes

Ordered some new shoes for the Jimmy there are cheapies for now
until I do the lift n such there still 31's but the gt radial m/ts

they had decent/good reviews

well the gt radials were on back order so I got cooper a/t's instead normally 65$ more than the original tire I got but he said he would price match and well ended up with a/ts because all the m/ts were sold out and back ordered.. :doah:

The cooper at' are a good tire. A lot bette than your other choice. And, the ats will run a lot smoother. Sounds like a win!

yea im excited about new shoes I just wanted more aggressive tread oh well, ill always need tires in the future

Truthfully, for stock sizes, I kinda laugh at mud tires. Yes, they have a place, for people who really need that tread on a daily basis.

But, i think they look at lot better in the 33 and 35 sizes. For a stock size tire, At's will look great.

i agree its just in NC all there is.... is mud so to go fishing/hunting its mud
but oh well a/t's should get me through it.. hopefully

so this weekend im going to fix the cigarette lighter for accessory usage, and figure out the tail gate situation.. change the oil, coolant, and gear oil debating on trans drain/refill

Take a look at the trans condition. If its working well, isn't too burnt, and is of unknown age, i'd leave it.

Too many stories of trans flushes killing older transmission.

Once deciding to leave it, do you ever get back on the recommended fluid-changing schedule? :dunno:

Not really.

A fluid change alone may not do damage, but there is always the risk.

Definitely don't flush it.

I'll chime in on what I have done with success regarding fluid changes in older unknown mileage situations. I usually look for a drain plug and if I find one I take out a quart or two and refill with fresh fluid. Drive it like that until my next oil change then swap out another quart or two. After about 4 or 5 oil changes I usually have a large portion of the old burnt smelling trans fluid swapped but the varnish that is built up on the bands and assorted parts still remains. It has yet to kill a trans. Now I have killed a 700R4 in an 88 C2500 by doing a flush. I mean within ten miles it was dead. SO I can attest to flushes not being worth it for older unknown mileage or serviced transmissions. If you get them done regularly however from the get go you are good to keep doing them. Now if I don't have a drain plug I usually drain the old fluid into a CLEAN pan and then install a plug and filter it through a coffee filter and put it back minus the one quart. I have used that a few times too.
