Bout' time for an updated Crew Cab pics thread!!

It's getting there... I need to fab up an anti-wrap bar out back and probably remove the overload from the pack and the rear will be good to go.
Then it's onto the front of the truck. :)

what do yall do about the load adjusting brake valving crap back above the rear axle when yall lift these things?

Even though my crew cab was stock when I bought it the valve lever wasn't hooked up. During the lift installation, I took it off when I added the longer rear brake hose (since it wouldn't reach the axle anymore). I never towed with it but didn't notice anything weird when hauling stuff.

This Jeep tried to follow me up these rocks. He couldn't make it.

There are a couple members on this board who can attest for what I have done with this oversized POS.

I jsut diconnected the arm and set it to where it worked best and left it alone. I only hauled stuff a few times(bed full of gravel or railroad ties stacked up over the roof, so not a little weight), but never had braking issues when I did.

There's a lot of nice trucks in this thread...

I wanna play...:D

Here's mine, it has a long way to go until it's set up the way I want it...

Mine's not a chevy or a crewcab but it's close. Anyone who says a big truck can't wheel is flat wrong unless you're in big tight rocks on steep mountains. Most trails a foolsize will do fine, you just take different lines. My truck laughed at Potato Salad hill in Moab and many a Jeep and Blazer have gone upside down there. When's the last time you saw a jeep flat drag a burned out diesel 4x4 F250? Sure there's a few places I don't fit but that doesn't bother me. I usually go over or around. ...and then there's Willyswanter's rig. Crew cab not functional offroad rig? Bahahahaha! ROFL!

Wow, I just realized I've already had this argument in this thread before. :haha:

Hey Kert what'd you say you did to fit the duals? I got two 2" spacers free the other day. Looking at running military 11-12" ish or 13-14" ish 38s dual....which BTW I think yours needs. :D

EDIT: Nevermind I went and dug it up in the thread.

That's a cool setup! Is the hole in the bed storage or access for something? Have any closer pics of the bed/bumper?

here is a nice one for sale local to me

Check out this one of a kind truck! It is a 1983 K3500 GMC (Chevrolet) crew cab 4x4 that was converted to a short bed. There is no gas guzzling 454 or weak 6.2 diesel in this truck it was converted to a slightly modified 5.9 liter Cummins inline 6 turbocharged AND intercooled diesel engine from a 93 dodge truck, I say slightly modified because the engine itself is stock with just over 100k miles but it has a new larger Holset Turbo and larger pump and injectors to match. It also has propane injection which adds around 40-50 hp and improves fuel economy while burning much cleaner than running straight diesel this thing regularly gets over 22mpg as long as you aren't hot rodding it! Transmission is a very stout rebuilt turbo 400 automatic but it is backed up with a Gear vendors overdrive unit which basically turns it into a semi automatic six speed tranny by splitting each gear in half it really works awesome! The Axles are all rebuilt GM corporate 14 bolt rear and Dana 60 front with 4.10 ratio. The truck has an 8 inch lift and rolls on 20 inch Jesse James spiders, these wheels are awesome! Tires are BFgoodrich 35 inch all terrains at about 80% tread remaining. A/C blows ice cold. There are no issues with this truck it is a real head turner and a great daily driver I use it every day and love every minute of it I would not hesitate to drive it to new york right now! It has a very nice stereo system with plenty of amps and subs that make it much louder than you'll ever need. I know I missed lots of details so feel free to call with any other questions you may have! Matt, 520-483-7912.

I will trade up to a 2004-2007 Duramax crew cab four wheel drive with low miles. Or for a car or truck that has value to a dealer as I am planning to trade it in for a new truck

That's a beautiful truck but man $18k seems a little steep. I know there are countless hours in doing a cummins swap the right way (he even kept the AC!) but still.

It's for storage, I'm debating on whether to put a lid on it. The cage will probably tie into the frame in there.

That was the plan, but a 48qt won't fit, it's an inch too deep (front to back). I did find a GOTT brand 40 qt that will squeeze in there though.
