How old are you? You sound like you've had a personal experience with 4WPW. Not even one of us here who hasn't wouldn't have been able to come up with all the detailed info you supply about them. My guess is that you're a victim to their shady dealings and business. You've lost money, right? You've made a vow to address the public of their shoddy ways. Almost like a personal vendetta.

i dont know about the rest of you but im kinda getting annoyed with this post
so you had a bad experiance, who hasent in life, but to keep going on and on about the same thing with a bunch of useless information that wont fix your problem is pointless
i have had good and bad dealings with them and just like any other company they have their faults. but i got over it and put my big boy pants on and got on with my life. maybe you should to.

I read through most of this thread.
I have bought from 4 Wheel Parts before and thought they were actually pretty good. If I had an issue and the first person I spoke didn't resolve it, I would ask for a manager. Every manager was exceptionally nice, and resolved the problems quickly and to my complete satisfaction. No complaints.
The OP listed several links to companies owned by Bear Stearns Merchant Banking.
It is interesting (ironic) that (as a result of the sub-prime lending fiasco) Bear Stearns was "rescued" by JP Morgan Chase this past May.
JP Morgan bought Bear Stearns at a truly fire sale price; roughly 99% less than the company was worth only three months earlier.

I agree that everybody makes mistakes, but good companies admit their mistakes and go out of their way to make it right for their customers like ORD, DIY4X, Ruff Stuff, etc....

There is more to the story than what is being told.
C4 lay it on the line of get off it.
I myself am a firm beliver that in business there is an acceptable rate of unhappy customers. What that number is as a percentage of sales is the big thing.
Look at Walmart:
I try not to shop at Walmart becasue I don't like the local store, they seem to move in and the mom and pop storers go away, they hire everybody on part time so they pay less in benifits etc. I have not been "wronged" by Walmart I just try not to go there for mulitple reasons.
However they seem to be doing just fine without me and continue to grow so there has to be some formula that states X% of sales can be unhappy customers and our bottom line doesn't get hurt.
Small companies;ORD, DIY4X, ruffstuff, were all mentioned in this thread have sales numbers that are small enough that they have a very small amount of unhappy customers. Typically these smaller places will take care of you better because they can and you also tend to have contact with the Owners of these smaller companies.
When was the last time you called and talked to the Owners of Walmart, 4WP etc. Never, and if you did they were probably put off by the issue and just tried to get you out of their hair and make you go away happy or not.

What does age have to do with anything? Last I knew, all (well, most) jobs have Equal Opportunity Employer paperworks hanging on the wall somewhere. Age has nothing to do with faulty vehicles and their counterparts with the aftermarket. Age has nothing to do with men and women installing stuff improperly, or properly, on any vehicle.

holy crap, that was a lot of reading. here's the thing, 4wp definitley has the walmart strategy hands down, but that is otherwise known as survival of the fittest. i won't say they're wrong for doing that. thats life.
the reason i go to the local guy, otherwise known a 4West, is because one day i walked in with gasket from a tranfercase that was all shredded up, and when the sales rep saw it, not only did he say, hey looks like you need a new np208 gasket, but he gave it to me for free. this guy knew a mile away what i was dealing with. since then i decided the local guy is way better than any 4wp dealer/poser shop.

I agree, your objective has been met, we are now all aware of the bad things some people at 4WPW have done. I'll take it under advisement for the future. I am sorry they screwed up your truck. That is part of the reason I build my own.
However, what the heck are those documents supposed to prove? One is an "investigative report" that just lists a bunch of CA codes that were violated by somebody, and the penalty is........ they are going to keep the report on file. And the other is somebody referring you to somebody else. I guess I don't get it - not exactly a smoking gun.
