I call nonsense on that.

I sold Poohbair his front driveshaft which was nearly as long as a rear shaft for a Blazer. He went 1410, got all the hardware, Spicer cold forged joints (non greasable) heavy duty long slip spline, 3" tube, yokes for both ends...........
And even with shipping he had it in hand for less than $500.

That's once again.....1410, yokes, HD tube, long slip, Spicer joints, to the door, for less than $500.

Thanks for trying to make it sound like I have something cool, but you actually sold that to White Rhyno!!

I looked and looked in my post and no where did I see anyplace that stated the shafts came from a GM rig.
I took the 205 and shafts from an F250.

Call it what you want. I have the slips to prove it (going to scan them in).

Do you have a price break down?

I know one yoke was 55 ish, one was 60 something. The u-joints were 15~20 a piece (all from High Angle).

Now add in the cost of driveshaft yokes (x2), Thick walled tubing, slip shaft, assembly labor and balance and you are in at LEAST 400. Granted some places charge less/more for the same products/services and deals can be had, or you can start with a useable shaft and save a some dough, but I put that figure out there as what he COULD look forward to spending.

Hell, if he was expecting to pay 500 and only had to pay 300 then I'm sure he would be happy, but expecting to pay 300 and for some reason (location, availability, etc) had to pay 500, I'm sure he be a little upset.

I guess I was preparing him for bad/worst case scenario as we don't all live in a perfect world....

Maybe in your world, but not ours.

Here is an invoice from one of the hospitals trucks. STOCK shaft (nothing Heavy Duty) in a 1350 series.

The price is for tube, tube yokes (not t-case or pinion yokes), slip shaft components, u-joints, and balancing/labor. The bill came to 374 with tax. Now throw in two yokes (transfer case and pinion) at a price of 110+ per set and you are at ~500 bucks. Now imagine if you went HD.

This is one of the best deals we got in the area for people that use Spicer components. There were several cheaper shops (using no name joints, so I would assume other parts as well) and some shops that advertised using spicer joints, but said nothing about the rest of the components. And they were still over $400. The hospital decided to pay the extra $70 for peace of mind.

Now you know why Jesse's shafts are such a good deal.......

The only thing I use these guys for in my personal vehicles is joints and balancing (and once to shorten a shaft). If I were to buy new, I would definitely contact Jesse (and have) as the price would be about the same and the tubing would be much thicker.

Nah, of course ran into a snag bolting the new tranny/t-case in.

32 spline setup pushes the crossmember back JUST far enough that where it needs to be bolted in, will interfere with existing holes in the frame. Need to work around that, but don't have the time.

Got the 14SF, 1350 joint just like the 1 ton stuff, so after I get the t-case/tranny/axle bolted in, I will be able to get an accurate measurement.

Will probably go with an .083" wall driveshaft, knowing the last one broke because the rear axle locked up. Going to see what it will save me first though. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Sorry, I always get you two mixed up. It was indeed white-rhino.

I'd also like to state that not every vendor buys their parts for the same price and not everyone charges the same for labor.

That shaft above from Jesse could likely be had in 1 ton rated, without any yokes, to your door, for about that price. With yokes you're still under $500, and you're getting a much higher quality product.

Jesse doesn't need to use price to sell his product. It'd still be a bargin at 3 times the price. His stuff is an outstanding value for what you get in return, which is what I've been trying to make clear here in this thread.

Sorry if it sounds that I'm stepping on toes, not meaning to do so in the least. Honestly, I couldn't have half the driveshaft Jesse builds from a local shop for what he charges.
