Had rims a few years ago but sold them . . But found a line on a set of 6 and there with a whole rear and springs . So what i dont use will be payback in scrap .

Yep the box from my Holmes 500 has some quarter sized rust holes in the bottom.
Working a deal on a whole holmes 440 unit with sling parts but no bed . I will get a electric winch and convert it to a holmes 220 model .
Reason for that is it looks like new pto builds are 6-8 weeks behind . So i need options this winter season . And they all share the same bed setup .
And i can still use it in a pickup bed if i wish later on down the road .

got the call today and time frame for the pto to be built and shipped . its looking like around 20 days to a little longer aspr the manufacturer . it will be direct shipped to me from the place i ordered it .

Sooooo . Waiting on my NEW pto and winter showing up i think i have a better plan to use what i have and just got and be the best of all options .

I have lots of reasons to keep it as is but wrecker in bed . And if i dont like it i can swap it to the 480 latter and DRW .
But anyway i scored this yesterday . A whole 440 unit minus the bed . Even has the sling and brackets .

Nice score. Having it as a removable unit has its advantages
Broke down the 440 today . Makes it much better to handle for install .
Winch unit removed . Sling seperated . Boom removed . Got to love a pallet jack . . Set on and moves around easy .

Got me thinking of maybe putting that Holmes 500 on the f350, problem is no PTO capability on its drivetrain.
There is always a way .....
Belt drive pto hydro on engine . Then hydro motor conversion for chain drive on 500 .

For about $1500 yep haha. Or maybe run 2 electric winches like you're considering
here for safe keeping of the bumper / plow frame design .
but i will update you guys a bit @mrk5 shipped out the ramsey 8,000 winch for me to make the holmes 440 a holmes 220 unit . i also found a holmes 220 badge online for sale and its on its way also . so we are on our way to making this happen . i have a plan for the main frame mount on the truck under the box . just need to pull it in and pull the box to install the mount and get going but i want the winch in first and tested before its in the box .

So you bought that for parts? Is it rare to find a '69 to '70 around there?
Heck 88- 98 gmt400 are rare . . But no the pic was saved . I wasnt were i could save it were i wanted it . So parked it here for now .
