Build thread for 76K5 update 12/7/09 page 14! Front end buildup.

Ya, the frame is way light, I can pick up one and without a problem. After I get the cab on, if it doesn't get a lot better, I'll just scoot the shackle flip a bit forward.

maybe you put them on backwards? i know that if you flip them backwards, its perfect for 56's. you've got 52's so thats 4" difference, if you located the flip in the stock location you put the shackle flip on opposite sides

your front is also very steep, but i imagine that with a motor and tranny on top of it it will settle it out

damn bro i wish i was in your shoes when i was 4 years younger.. hell im not even close to being in your shoes. damn i wish i still lived at home!!!!

Yep, living at home is great while making money too. Cause all I have is 1 car payment and almost all the rest goes to the blazer. I am proud to say though I do pay for everything on my own. My dad does help me out with working on it, but most dads do. Its a lot of fun and should be running in not too long. Picking up my 465/205 in a couple weeks then getting the motor built and I'll be pretty much good to go.

The flat part of the shackle flip is towards the front. (If you can't picture what I'm saying, I'll take a picture, I even confused myself). So I'm guessing that if I flipped it, it would pull it even farther from the spring making it worse. Hopefully this weekend I'll get the cab on and see how it looks then. But moving it forward wouldn't be an issue at all. Thanks for the input.

OMG you are so lucky, i only wish my dad would let me use the garage! damn thats a nice, nice frame assembly you got there. enjoy it while you can!! lol

I do feel bad though. Our shop is fairly new and 90% of it is full of my project while his project is stuck in the corner not being worked on.

Dude.... if you don't get any when that truck is done... something is wrong... nice rig so far. The shackle flips are on the "right" way if when looking at your truck from the side, they slant towards the front.

New Shackle Angle

you are going to want to fix your rear shackle angle...maybe with the body on it it will correct it. looks very sweet!

heres my shackle angle:

Went ahead and changed me shackle angle. I figure, yeah it may come out right when the cab is on, but when it flexs I don't want the spring going up the wrong way. So here is the pic now, its almost straight up and down, but once I get that cab on there, its gonna be saweet.:saweet:

much better :) hopefully it will level out nicely, if not you can always move them up some more. how much lift are you running?

I'm running 8". So, 8" arch in the front and 4" in the rear with my shackle flip. Just makin sure I can clear my 42's
