BUILT NOT BOUGHT pics..

funny you should say that...next mods are cutting the top, caging the interior and then narrowing the front and rear along with converting to propane. the narrowed trucks are growing on me.

I can't figure out how to post pics, but click Here to see me turn my 81' C10 into a '79 K10 w/ a chopped bed.

rcurrier44, that is one of the best transformation sequences I've seen. Looks good!

Thanks bigjbear, ounce I find a buyer for my ARB'd axles and get a front 60 in it she is done. Maybe a couple of little changes and refinements; if I decide to go any more extream I will be building a complete other chasis. However I've got a couple of other buildups in the works right now that need attention first. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Here's a pic of my truck when I bought it in 1999.

Intially went with a 4" lift and then installed this flatbed.

A buddy called me one day saying he had a 1989 1 ton spotted and that I should buy it for the big block so next thing I know I'm tearing my truck apart to put in the 454 - course decided to fix some rust and one thing has led to another.

I'm in the process of getting the truck ready for paint - hope to be back on the road this spring.

Burbboy that looks awsume as he!!....... Do you have any other pic's of the process and finished...... I've wanted to do that to a 2wd for years..... Looks great...... /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Threw a rod on my first engine on the freeway, more than halfway to pismo. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Added a detroit locker in my 12bolt, then proceeded to blow my ring and pinion about once a year for the next 3 years. Followed my an axle shaft... Why i spent money on that 12 bolt more than once, i have no idea. /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif
Positraction1%5B1%5D.jpg

Decided that 4" blocks and 33's sucked A$$ and had to go with skyjacker 6" front/8" rear springs, new driveshafts and 35's.
Suspension2%5B1%5D.jpg

1/2 tons and 35's are the hot setup for a true mall wheeling sidewalk warrior. Especially with brakeline limiting straps. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Found CK5, replaced or messed with everything on the entire truck. Picked up a 14ff/D60, rebuilt them, added all the crossover & hydro goodies, 3/8" custom diff covers, and some 38's..

Um, i'm lost can you point me in the direction of the nearest mall?

Dude that B&W is killer retro!

I do a lot of B&W work and had quite a bit published years ago, and that is a killer looking photo. Did you do that yourself? I love that kind of look, it's hard to reproduce the old weathered photo look, but I'm getting better at. I wish I still had a darkroom to do all my own developing and processing. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

That is the new engine going in. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes i had a photo class in highschool, one of our first projects was taking a black and white photo and developing it.. Naturally i wanted to take a photo of my K5 i just got. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif I dig it because its the only black and white photo of my truck, and its also the first pic i took of my truck right after i bought it.

That GMC Burb is sweet! Nothing like a clean retro 4x4.....Badarse!

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree, I'm a big fan of the 67-72 trucks.

Here is mine, I had it for around 8 years or so. The first 5 yrs or so it was my daily driver. I sold my Jeep and now it's the 4X4 toy. It ain't much but I'm progressing as money allows {too many hobbies!}.

Thanks for the compliment. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif Too bad my Burb is anything but clean....the body is rather rusty. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif For now I don't have to worry about bashing the body or scratching the paint, cuz this body is thrashed. /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif
