Nah it’s already on the rack torn apart hoggin up the shop. I haven’t broken the rear gears yet so I’m hoping it’s not gonna be a problem. Mr Jantz seems to think I should be good.

When I did my front axle I felt like I was grinding so much out of the belly of the housing I stopped and had a machine chop cut 1/4" off the ring gear. Be careful.

Fyi, Carl recommended I run Amsoil Severe Gear 250w. I'm not sure if that's for the mod in general or because of my ratio.

I forgot about all the damage, what about the frame? Going to be wheeling it again?

Yeah the frame is something I’ll tackle soon. Probably summer. I’ll weld it up and then build some kind of engine cage to tie into the cab cage. I’m not frame swapping anything just bandaiding this one.

In order to cage the front like I want I needed to move the steering box. MAW with the 2.75” full hydro. Radial dynamics was super helpful and would definitely recommend them.
Full spool and 70 gears can go in now that it’s all welded. New chromos and super joints also.

Looking forward to the engine cage, I want to see how/where you go through the firewall.

Is the ram mount as much in the way of the diff cover as it looks? Could you get gears in and out without cutting it off? Was eyeing one like this after helping swap gears with the artec mount that had to be cut.

It’s rolled forward so there’s tool access to get the cover off and work inside. If it comes to it, I don’t mind trimming it. Being a full spool, I don’t suspect it to be an issue. I’m doubtful a full Detroit would even be a problem.

Thanks. Might be the way to go, still much less trimming. Who makes that one?

A dude named Johnathan Rios with the truck named bean dip designed it. He gave me the first cut file to try out and it went well. He’s got a couple already out there on other trucks. It is really close to how I would have made it myself so I really like it that I didn’t have to lol.
