Burban tow build possibly 84 avalanche

Yep sure did, ended up plumbing to the return basically right away. It kept pushing fuel out the vent and made a mess and big hazard

So now the gauges don't read the same. Before they would be pretty even. Now after tstat replacement. The factory gauge with sensor on head between. 1&3 cyl. Will read over 210 and fitech reads 185 sensor mounted near t-stat. After shut off and heat soaking. But while running fitech reads steady at 168-170 and stock will jump from 1/4 (guessing around 150) line then almost to 210 line while running. Just idleing tho haven't been on road yet.

Then after cooling down stock gauge reads under 210 and fitech 186.
If I gotta pull the sending unit I think I'm going to be done with this stupid fitech and call them up and ruin there day......u think the fitech is just that slow to respond?

mine is usually spot on but those factory gauges seem to be unpredictable sometimes because of the printed circuit on the back of the cluster

Right and mine were real close before I did tstat. I hope the drastic heat drop doesn't wear out the tstat faster.

Replace the coolant temp sensor the FiTech reads. @mrk5 posted the part number. I also think your stock gauge is reading high.

My.02

The head will always read hotter then the intake, cuz it is.

I have a liquid filled Autometer in one side of the intake, my Edelbrock Pro-Flow in the other side of the intake and they read differently.

I would not trust a stock one to be accurate then anything else.

Yep got the sensor listed above now it's reading at 190-195. Thanks for the part number. Maybe my gas mileage will be better now. And the random studder will go away. Fuel psi still around 45-50. But I havnt driven yet with new sensor ethier.

Ya used it for a enetire year put over 3000 miles towing on it. But 10k toy hauler was A bit to much for it. And transmission started making noise like clicking noise thinking the sprag gear wasnt happy. And anytime a big rig truck pasted me it would get pretty tense and wind would push it around pretty hard. Ended up buying a 09 2500hd. Now the burb just hauls jet skis, And toys on flat bed and takes cruises through wooda. Just picked up anothrr k5 to build might use 700r4 to put in burb.
