Burnt burb resurrection (It's mine again!)

looks great!
Thank you:) I'm pretty happy with the way it looks. I drove it all over town and it deffinatley neeeeds the sway bar. I will be hooking that up first thing. Then its the spare carrier.

looking good Rick....way better with the mods.

That thing looks fantastic man!!! Im loving it. Too bad you couldnt drive it to Zims, I woulda loved to take it for a spin. Looks comfy.

I'm thinkin I like the runners. They're gonna stay for awhile. I gotta get the rear wheel spacers to make it look totally right though. the front come out right about perfect to the flares.

Some box tubing under the frame sway bar mounts and your set. Oh and a set of ORD sway bar disconnects will give you the best of both worlds. I wouldnt do the wheel spacers in the rear. Why sacrifice strength for what most will never notice. Looks great BTW

Strength isnt really an issue with this one. The newer spacers or adapters to some, are built to take it. Theres people running them on rock crawlers with no issues. But this truck is more of a mall crawler/DD. A slightly muddy road is the heaviest 4x'n it'll do for a long time. Plus I notice it :D

That something my dad never liked, was the way chev 4x4s rear ends are narrower than the front. I think spacers would be ok...it would look better.

Nice looking bus!:thumb:

It drives me crazy too. I have them on my blazer and will be getting a 14bff installed shortly if the guy doesn't back out on doing the work. My 6 lug spacers are available IF you want them. Heck you can have everything (front/rear axles and rims/tires) but I might need a little for the whole deal so I can get new rims and tires.

That'd be awsome, the spacers will make this thing look way better. I was plannin on swingin up your way here some time. Let me know if you get the 14 bolt in. Then I'll swing up with the burb and check out your blazer. Maybe your new burb will be done by then so I can see it too:)

Plus I notice it :D

Exactly, nobody else matters but you so do it your way.
One of the plumbers at work was driving behind me, and when I got to the shop he goes woo man your front axle is sticking way out on the drivers side, I was like no go look at it, it sticks out on both sides lol.

I think I found what I need to do the sway bar correction/disconnects. I cant find anything to use as a bushing sleeve that has the 3/4" I.D. I have the bushings but I have to drill them out and put a sleeve in. I found the flat stock to do the rest I just have to cut it to shape. As soon as all the bigwigs go home I'll dig out the plasma here at work:D.

I'm waiting for u-bolts for the 14 then I'm going to paint everything, and then get real aggressive about getting them installed. My sub I have to check on today and then probably go there in the next couple of weeks to make sure I sit where I want. I'm guessing a month on that yet. Oh yeah I met your aunt the other day.

Good luck on the parts build:waytogo:

Nice work man! Looks awesome with the lift and tires. I have a set of drop brackets for the sway bar on a parts truck if you are interested. If you pay for the ride you can have them...

I got all the parts ruff cut last night. I couldnt use the plasma though cause it was on a job with the mechanics:confused: I just got all my holes drilled, plates and tube cut. I'll round and pretty them here at home before I weld them up. I still have to find sleeve material with 3/4" center. I'll be out in it figuring the CD player install till work tonight. No music suuucks. If I had a decent exhaust it wouldnt be so bad. But the only thing I got to listen to is the intake and glove box rattle:doah:

edit: Which aunt did you meet TREA18? Nancy, Julie, Sheila...:D

I had the 1 ton sitting by the burb awhile back and I was looking back and forth at the burbs engine bay and the tons 454:D. I was thinking "man that would look good in there" who knows what will happen when its all done. I'm still debating what I'm doing with the 1 ton. I want a bad a$$ shortened CC rockcrawler like the ORD willard. But theres no rocks ANYWHERE near me:doah: Right now I have $2000 in it and that gives me a D60, D70:confused:, tbi454, th400, np205, some beefy drive shafts, and some sheet metal and steel to play with. I dont know maybe the burb has enough rust to warrant some mud:whistle: We'll see....

the way gas is going a 4 cyl would be good. It only take 100hp to run in the rocks ya know.
