Burnt burb resurrection (It's mine again!)

tomorrow will be the 8th or 9th time ive had to charge or jump this battery since this started dieing on me:doah: Still reads 12v and works great every time when its running though. starters iffy... theres been quite a few times when i was p!ssed that i just kept cranking it way too long... seems fine but i know i've taken some years off of it by being stupid:rolleyes:

Have the battery load tested. If it has a dead cell it can still give a valid 12v+ reading across the other cells.

ill borrow the one from work.. we have a load tester. I've heard they're extremely hard on batteries though. Heard that even a good battery that's getting old can be killed by one early:dunno: I guess that's a good thing kinda... just never used one because of that.

Nah. Just tests the cells.

Take it to a parts store. Just about every AutoZone, Advance, and O'Reilly's has testers for them.

Tunerpro connects right up immediately when I plug it in and open it up now...:waytogo: thanks again Jess:thumb:

Now to make it run:doah: I unhooked and isolated all the plug wires. then unhooked the fuel pump relay. Then put a plug in wire #1 and cranked it.... spark still looks weak to me :dunno: hooked it all back up for the h3ll of it and after cranking a few times I popped off and ran about 3 seconds.... then died and now nothing again....

So frickin depressing :frown1:

i did kinda but haven't since I fixed the TPS. I ran a sparkplug wire directly off the coil to a plug directly grounded on the motor. then cranked it over.... still a weak looking spark to me.... tried to video tape it but it looks like freakin lighting on vid close up:haha:

Oly half blue but a lot of yellow and you cant hear the snap of a good spark.

unplug the battery to clear the ecm. New plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. I would buy an accell or msd coil. They are only 30 bucks. But first try the basic tune up stuff.

Going to do wires just because, and I figured I'd take the cap and rotor off to check them even though their new.. The coil IS an MSD and its about a week or 2 old. installed it a few days before you helped me.

I thought about that ECM thing.... I've had the batt unhooked a few times during recent days, but not sure if I've really tried it since.

may get more time on it tomorrow after work... making time to check it out has been rough lately.... Plus I'm truck shopping to replace my Lincoln. so it may be a few days yet lol.

99-06, chevy/gmc, 1500, 2wd or 4wd, extended cab or crew, shortbed, less than 110k, preferably with a topper. not a bigge though

and not salvaged like the 05 crew I had n sold....:doah: it dog tracked like 8" and clunked like crazy on bumps.... balljoints were good:dunno: frame was weak n bent

Got it running and logged a couple times.... I have issues:doah: I'll figure out a way for me to put video of it on here..... all the needles and such going wacko. I got it to run by hooking everything back up and unhooking the batt and timing plug at firewall... then hooked timing thing back up.

just the file... I can try that I guess.. never done it before

Everything looks good to me, I just briefly played them. Your BLM and INT are a little low but when you punched it they were in range so I think you are good there. I would suggest posting in Gearheadefi.com forums and ask them to review it.

what I was seeing is the spark advance going all the way around constantly, the O2 sensor running all the way up them back to the bottom and starting over..... but none of them do that till it goes to closed lop... in the 4-4-15 vid the very beginning everything is even and fine, then as soon as it switches from open to closed a bunch of things climb all the way and back down instantly...... repeatedly :dunno:

Oh and now that its back to running it does seem to be rough now.... was smooth always before...
