buying a 60 tommorow, and a 14ff LOOK

Yep, i figure its either a 60, or its not a 60. :) Well se tommorow :) If it is im buying that *** up like a pig, it may be my only chance for a while :) with the 456s. with the 14ff also 456s. Its all around a good deal

this has probably been answered 100 times on this site but how do you tell if it has 4.56's especially if they're aftermarket?

dude im telling you buy that **** if its all legit. I've been looking for 14bsf or ff and all i've see are 20 year old rust piles for 400 bucks and 10 year old working 14's for 800. Same with a d60... Either its gotta be 3/4, rusted, or you lucked out.
Hey if You want I could probably get You a lead on some axels over in Your area. I sold about 5 14blt FF to a buddy of mine over in Redding a few months ago.

cool beans.... it all depends on how cheap i can get my chip, license and smog done for but i should have enough for a 14sf or ff.

Note to self ....count steering bolts ,,there should be 4,, look for 60 stamp on cover,,, remove cover divide ring teeth by pinion teeth, and divide.check for play,,,,

You don't need a D60 plain and simple. You plan on running 35x12.50 BFG's.....an 8 lug 10B can EASILY handle those tires. There is a HUGE difference between a very mild BFG M/T and the same size swamper, The BFG's will be much more forgiving since they weigh a lot less.

You are just going to have an expensive as hell front axle to maintain and a bunch of dead weight for no reason. I used to want a D60 too....then I relized, i don't need one because I have never broke anything up front and have beat on my truck about as hard as I want to,plus I'm making a lot more power than you are. I want it to be light as possible because I have to trailer my K5 now, and even if I drove it around town still I wouldn't want that extra weight from that 60 sucking extra gas and slowing me down.

YOu sold you custom high dollar hi pinion 60 because you needed the money and relized you didn't need a high end axle like that....so why are you going to make the same mistake twice? You are not building a 42" tired big block powered rock crawler...it's a daily driver with a little fun in the dirt on the weekend......
