He stole Bretts hood!

those look great Kert.

Does Kerry already have a block and heads?

Car looks awesome Kert. I keep seeing pics on FB.

When I was in college, in 1993, I put bead screws in my bias 38.5 TSLs. I knew nothing of beadlocks back then. Don't even know if they made them. I worked on a sprint car team and was into drag racing. So I ordered a set of band new rims and tires. And started drilling! In two yrs, one tire came off one time in the mud. And all those screws shredded the tire. I flipped the tire and ran it for yrs.

Good times!

So, obviously its up on the table.

I built a stand for it out of some drop material to hold it up off the deck a bit. Makes it a little easier to get around.

After that, I used some 1" square tube to brace up the rockers side to side, some more to brace up the tail. When you cut away as much sheet metal as I intend to, the body starts to move. Typically the rockers will move toward each other once the fire wall and floor boards are removed. The tail will have a tendency to fall. Doesn't take much to combat that.

Then I jumped in on the floor removal. At this point the floor removal is not as far out to the rockers as it will go. I kinda like to cut close first so I can get inside and take off the last little bit more carefully.

Tomorrow, I'd like to get the firewall and wheel tubs cut out. Not sure if i'll have time or not.

I want to come visit!

Your welcome anytime Dave, however, I think if you were to come out, during some of the chassis work, or maybe when its time to mock up some of the major components like engine or front suspension or something like that, itd be funner

more of the floor removed yesterday. Pretty much a shell with a firewall right now. More to remove yet, at least now its to a point where I can see where all the floor meets the quarter panels and tail pan and etc. Kinda nice in some places to leave an inch or so flange for reattaching aluminum floor pans and the like.

We'll see whats happening in the spring!

that is perfect as long as they don't grow into the lips of the fender at high speed....I don't know how much they will grow at a certain mph, perhaps Goodyear has a spec on that?

I'll have to trim the openings. Plan to do the trim at the rear from the body line on down. Then I can reestablish a axle center line just a touch further back.

Still got some odds and ends sheet metal to remove from the inside but a lot of it is now to a point where I can start cleaning up the surface and preparing connection points.

Are you going to move the engine back?

Fancy wheels...

Yep, engine is getting moved back.... a lot! Probably about 10". Front wheel centerline will be stretched forward 2" and the rear axle will come back about 1 - 1.5" give or take.

Today I Got the body leveled up on the table both side to side and front to back and secured it to the table. Now, I can start putting some tubing in if the mood struck me. Still have a lot of sheetmetal to remove from the inside and some work to do on the rocker panels where the cross members meet the rocker panels.
