And can you paint them?

I want to trim my stock chrome bumpers for clearance and I also would like to paint them (either flat black or bedliner). Just wondering if rattle can will stick to the chrome.

Pics for reference if you have 'em.

Here you almost see what i did, as far as painting yes it will stick, i painted every chrome surface on my truck a couple years ago and its still doing fine, just rough it up with 220 or so grit sandpaper, prime and paint.

just found and uploaded this one, its a little better.

Definitely scratch it up first. Painted mine flat black without doing it, and the paint was flaking off the next day )yes, I cleaned them with acetone first, but no scratchee)

Dave, you've seen mine in person before. But here's some pics anyways:

Thanks Scott, I forgot yours were trimmed.

I know this is not the ideal bumper, just want to get rid of some of the chrome and minimize the damage. I tore off the mudflaps and bent the bumper that time we went wheeling and just don't want to have to screw with it.

Hopefully if I can con the wife into a welder purchase this summer I can make some.(after some practice) I also need to cut off that hitch, it hung me up a few times, but I've already worked out a justification for the big compressor and the tools with the wife. (must have the big ass compressor to do the drywall texture and run the nailer for the deck;) )

Not cut, but here's what it looked like a few hours after. It started flaking off, because i DIDN'T SCUFF IT FIRST.

I could get a closer pic of the front tomorrow, but I'm afraid the rear bumper is gone. I'm making a new bumper with tire carrier.

the front bumper is really what i would like a better look at, i don't have a rear bumper at all at the moment. if you could get a closer pic i would really appreciate it. thanks!

I forgot to get your picture today, but I found this one. I think it shows the bumper pretty well.

Let me know if you need another.
