Can i swap to a 700R4 from a TH350 and keep my NP208

Like it says above i have a not running 87 blazer with a 700R4 transmission and im guessing the NP208 t-case. Can i swap that into my 77 blazer that currrently has a TH350 trans and a np203 t-case. would this swap improve my powerband and gas mileage considering that it is a 4 speed OD vs. the 3 speed i have now. the 77 blazer works perfect now so would the swap even be ethical? One that thing, are the front axle's on both trucks interchangeable i belive that they are both corp 10 bolts. resason i ask that is because my 87 also has manual locking hubs on the front. or can i easily swap the manual hubs to my 77 blazer from the 87?
