Cap weatherstripping?

Thanks alot, I see now how the ends fit into a groove and screw in, now I hate to beat a dead horse, but just before I spend money I dont have,

The parts in the LMC catalog 38-6192 and 38-6193 specifically say Lower seal LH/RH and on the picture they are on the trucks bedrail not on the cop, are these the right pieces? On the picture at least they do not seem to have the ends that fit in the grooves.

Thanks alot everyone for dealing with this.

They are the right pieces, they just display them wrong for space in the diagram. They should be the two that attach to the top.

I can't remember who it was but someone actually posted a side by side of the gm and the lmc bedrail stripping and you can see that the lmc version was noticeably shorter and cheaply molded at the end by the tailgate. Just something to think about...

Thanks alot, and yes, i know GM would be better to go to, but im between jobs and money is really tight and GM wanted something like $250 for the two bedrail strips as opposed to the 80bucks LMC wants, so if it lasts me a year ill be good and should then have the money for GM stuff, appreciate the warning though.

Did you check at gmpartsdirect.com?

The post Jim made some time back stated they were only $75 RETAIL, so they should be cheaper at GMPD, even with shipping. I'll run the numbers as soon as their site comes up.

Yes, they have ridiculous shipping sometimes, but that is where they make their money. They sell for little, if any, over their cost of the parts, but cost+shipping (for me anyways) is still cheaper than the local dealer will sell to me.

Yeah, both are about $250 once done with S&H from GMPD. If you add the price GMPD charges (before shipping) to the amount marked "you save", it usually ends up being the retail price. In this case the seals would be about $80/each from a local dealer charging you full price. So $160 for both seals, which is a LOT less than GMPD. I'd seriously consider talking with a local Chev dealers parts counter.
